16.01.2022 Introducing 'Departures' designers...lighting designer -Ilan El Ilan was born in Tel Aviv and grew up to admire and be inspired by its international style archi...tecture, mostly known as Bauhaus. After graduating from the School of Architecture in Tel Aviv University, Ilan launched a multi-disciplinary design studio specialising in interior, exhibition and product design. Ilan was constantly drawn towards the way design affects people and the ability as a designer, to create spatial experiences. 12 years ago Ilan was lured to Melbourne for its cultural vibe and joined the Masters program at RMIT University where he specialised in Experiential illumination. Ilan explores the spatial relationships light creates within the built environment and ways to harness illumination for a better wellbeing.
