22.01.2022 We are delighted to announce the winners of the Name the Ducks @ The Peppermint Grove Competition 2020. The Shire President of Peppermint Grove, Rachel Thomas was on hand to congratulate two of the winners; Jack Crossing for Matilda, Jhih Stamp for Waddles. The ducks will be permanently attached to a new seat inside the foyer of the Shire of Peppermint Grove and their new names attached with a plaque.... Thank you to everyone who voted and entered over the last month, and for all of your fabulous names. This was an extremely hard decision as all of your entries were so creative; and we received 141 entries!

20.01.2022 We love Christmas at The Grove, and no Christmas is complete without Santa. Tonight was an enchanted evening, with songs, stories, photos and lollies with Santa; who came all the way from the North Pole! Santa listened to every girl and boy, and they all promised to be good. Everyone had photos with Santa then it was time for Santa to fly away to get ready for Christmas Eve! We would like to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

19.01.2022 Inspirational author and illustrator Briony Stewart visited the library today for Book Week with the message Practice practice practice. Exercise your imagination, so it gets stronger and better. And play with your ideas. It was great to see Briony show the students how real places real people have made such an impact on her stories and illustrations. Briony made the day very special, and we can’t wait to see what she does next! www.brionystewart.com

14.01.2022 It was a wonderful day for Stewart, The Grove’s Children’s Librarian, as he visited one of his favourite kindergartens for story time. Cottesloe Kindy is part of the Cottesloe Primary School and has a wonderfully involved parent community. I love its inclusive play based programs, it’s a real gem. He’ll be back there soon, because the Christmas story time season is rapidly approaching. http://cottesloeps.wa.edu.au/

12.01.2022 As you will be probably aware, the West Australian State Government has announced the introduction of a mandatory requirement to maintain a ‘contact register’ of visitors at certain establishments. Your library falls into this category. This requirement will commence this Saturday on 5 December 2020. From this Saturday, as you enter The Grove Library, all people who are 16 or older will need to scan the QR code on entry, or fill out the manual register. The library will be us...ing the SafeWA QR code system and app which securely records contact details with the Department of Health. Now don’t worry; if you do not have a smart phone, or do not wish to download the app, a manual register will be available as you enter the library or we can help you download the app. SafeWA is an efficient and safe way to record patron and visitor contact details where they can check-in, using the app. Download the SafeWA app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store or from our website link below https://www.thegrovelibrary.net//changes-to-library-ent/94
