They started Smith Partners from the front lounge-room in their home and after a year, it became obvious that they needed to move into a bigger office asap! It was a good thing they did move, as they now have a team of 15 and there are no signs of slowing down!... Prior to working in real estate, Ryan was in banking, looking after an impressive portfolio. He enjoyed working with his clients, but realised his talents would be better used elsewhere, and so moved into real estate. It was here he realised how much he loved working with people and what he could do for them. Corina was also in banking, and loved the interaction with customers, so, it was a natural move to go into business with Ryan where she could help people achieve their dreams! Serafina was born when owners Michael and Emily started off with a small jewellery booth in Norwood. Over the years they expanded their range to include garments and other accessories, which has now translated into seven shops around Adelaide! He is the smiling face living the dream at the front counter and you may have met him while bringing your car in for a service or fix. A mechanic by trade, Matt has been in the industry for over 30 years, starting his apprenticeship way back when at North East Nissan. 08.01.2022 Meet Gary from Muffin Break! Gary is well known in the food court at The Grove, running the Muffin Break café for 15 years! Many of you may even remember the kiosk he ran before the food court renovations three years ago. Even through these renovations he set up a temporary coffee machine in the mall to keep his coffee flowing and his customers happy!... Prior to owning Muffin Break, Gary was in purchasing before running a transport business. At the time, he and his wife lived in the southern suburbs and spent a lot of money on going out for coffees. They frequented Muffin Break at Colonnades regularly and it quickly become their favourite place to go. When his wife saw Muffin Break at The Grove was up for sale, they didn’t think twice and moved their family to the north east to run the café. Once settled, his wife went back to work as a nurse and Gary was full steam ahead on the café. You can tell by talking to Gary that he loves what he does, and it shows with both state and national awards he has won over the years. This includes retail excellence, national coffee award and state excellence award. Everything Gary sells is made fresh daily on the premises. This not only includes all the muffins (which are preservative free), but also quiches, pies and sandwiches, to name a few. He also offers vegan and gluten free options, which have become increasingly popular over the years. In fact, the biggest change Gary has seen in his 15 years, are the palate changes and dietary requirements, including the introduction of all sorts of alternate milks (which are at no extra charge!). Gary employs 11 staff and he especially loves to see their journey from when they start as teenagers in high school, to finishing Uni and starting their new careers. He even had a couple meet while working at Muffin Break, who ended up getting married! 05.01.2022 Meet Rebecca from Lotus Hair Lounge! Rebecca and her business manager, Jess, opened Lotus Hair at The Grove in February 2020, relocating from Fairview Green after ten years. She opened at The Grove right before the dreaded COVID closures hit; however, Rebecca was lucky enough to have a successful business behind her to push her through to the other side! Rebecca has been a hairdresser for as long as she’s been working 25 years all up! Jess has been a hairdresser for 15 year...s and between the both of them, they are very experienced and knowledgeable in all thing’s hair! Rebecca started as an apprentice in her Mum’s salon and continued to work there for 14 years before opening her own salon. 03.01.2022 Meet David from Aussie Golden Grove! David and his wife Dianne have owned Aussie for three years and have loved every minute of it! Dianne had actually been a senior broker for Aussie for many years and really enjoyed for working for such an iconic brand. David, on the other hand, worked in the car trade, helping to rebuild car yards. After 40 years, he got to the point in his life where he retired for a month. He could see that Dianne needed a bit of help with her work and... decided to assist her for three months that three months turned into David sharing her passion and a decision to them owning Aussie Home Loans at The Grove. What started as just the two of them, soon grew to four brokers and an admin/PA. With seven grandchildren, David and Dianne aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.
