25.01.2022 Aluminium is the most valuable material in your recycling bin. If youre in a position where you have to buy a drink or something else thats packaged, go for the aluminium option if there is one!
25.01.2022 Many fashion brands are now using old plastic waste to produce new clothing. While we applaud initiatives like this for trying to solve our plastic epidemic, it... might be causing a big problem for our oceans. For now, when washing the synthetic clothing you already own, try using a guppyfriend that traps the fibres so you can collect them and put them into the bin. Thanks for the video The Story of Stuff Project!
25.01.2022 Not to mention the money savings! $19 billion dollars a year is spent on "phantom power" or "ghost load" every year in the US. Switching off is a win for you...r wallet and the planet! _________________________________ Running our campaigns, creating our educational articles, videos and images and maintaining our climate action app is done on a shoestring by our tiny team, but we need the financial support of our movement. If you feel that our work has helped and empowered you to tackle the climate emergency and you love what we do, wed love if you would consider becoming one of our Passionate Supporters, giving a regular monthly donation as small as $8. It would mean the world to us, and it would help us keep our content independent, focused on helping you help the planet. More information here: https://bit.ly/32lclTE

13.01.2022 Now anyone can become a farmer and grow nutritious, sustainable food - without leaving the city. This film was shot in 2018. Since then, Square Roots has devel...oped its own technology specifically tailored to its model and has evolved its Next-Gen Farmer Training Program, finding new and innovative ways to grow local food and support young people entering the urban farming industry. 12.01.2022 When we emerge from this pandemic we have an opportunity to see the world differently where happiness is not defined by material things. Thanks a million to @noplastic for sharing this beautiful pic.
12.01.2022 For those times when packaging cant be avoided, heres what to weigh up when picking between glass, aluminium and cardboard. _________________________________ ...Running our campaigns, creating our educational articles, videos and images and maintaining our climate action app is done on a shoestring by our tiny team, but we need the financial support of our movement. 11.01.2022 love this quote by the amazing Maya Angelou. Via Uplift Connect
10.01.2022 "Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. The student expected Mead... to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones. But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal. A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery. Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said." We are at our best when we serve others. Be civilized.
08.01.2022 Voting with pencil and paper is out of date and we should just be using an app, right? Not so fast...

04.01.2022 We can use this moment as an opportunity to reinvent ourselves and build a better world as we solve the climate crisis. As part of the countrys plan to be clim...ate neutral by 2035, Finland is rapidly scaling up wind and solar power, electrifying heating and transport and cutting back on planned logging investments. _________________________________ Running our campaigns, creating our educational articles, videos and images and maintaining our climate action app is done on a shoestring by our tiny team, but we need the financial support of our movement.
