24.01.2022 This is so beautiful...... This seagrass casket was delivered to the home of the deceased who were unable to have a viewing due to COVID, and didn't wish for he...r body to be embalmed. Friends and family came together to create a powerful ceremony around the blessing of her 'boat' - filling it with herbs, flowers, messages and love. When all was complete, they brought it to the crematory where Sacred Crossings gently placed her body inside before the cremation. Please remember, we don't need to be in physical proximity to one another to connect, communicate and transmit our love and compassion. We are rapidly moving into a virtual reality where all things are possible and the veil between physical life and life after physical life is dissolving. Olivia Bareham www.sacredcrossings.com

Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say af...ter R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK. There's more to say after R U OK? Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. When we know what to say next we can help someone open up and find pathways to support long before they're in crisis. 06.01.2022 How do we support children and adolescents when someone dies? Jackie Tarabay is one of our speakers in the End of Project Celebration Zoom event running from Oct 12-15th The Forgotten Grievers: Child and adolescent grief "Let’s start with the unavoidable fact: Death is part of life, that will come to us all. It is one of the givens of our existence that brings us together in our shared humanity. Frequently, we veil our displays of grief and mourning from our children believi...ng we are protecting them. But rather than protect, we often leave our grieving children feeling alone to make sense of the loss of someone that they love." 04.01.2022 Thank you Care Beyond Cure for the share!

04.01.2022 Quite sometime ago, we learned of how they cared for their dead on Flinders Island a while back, from a local resident. A council employee who also did funerals..., the hospital morgue as the base and a council ute. Today we had the pleasure of a visitor from Launceston who just so happened to be that funeral director in our story Her name is Marj (pictured here with husband Jim) and she told us it wasn't a council ute... it was a station wagon from the supermarket We love community! Talk soon Marj See more
