17.01.2022 A huge "Congratulations" to Artist Guitars who were selected to be among the Top 100 Dealers in The WORLD! That's an amazing nomination. Well done to Ian Bush and the guys (and gals). Well deserved. Pssst....If you haven't tried their tube amps and guitars (with BullBuckers) then you are in for a treat.

17.01.2022 Well I think I have a contender on my bench today for the BPOS* award for 2020. It just goes to prove that not all handwired amps are good. Just look at the solder connections!! OMG. For me to confirm that the OP transformer is cooked I will need to remove so many poorly connected and laid out parts it will be uneconomic. *(Biggest Pile Of Shit)

11.01.2022 I always enjoy bringing an amp back to life. This stunning example of musical history was one such amp. Its a 1963 Fender Pro (yes, with 15" Alnico speaker!). It makes my work such a joy when people appreciate, and can hear the results. Here is what my customer said: "I have a 1963 Fender Pro Amp which I purchased and had serviced more than 20 years ago. Because of the amps size and volume (not conducive to small Californian bungalows in the suburbs), it was relegated to a c...orner. And so, it hibernated. I always felt that I was the custodian of something special and that its integrity needed to be realised I just needed to find the right person to do it. I was so lucky to find the right person in Chris. The amp was taken to Chris for appraisal. He understood its provenance from the start a rare 1963 brown face/ black face transitional amp, in original condition that needed some ‘serious’ remedial work. Chris worked his magic on this heritage piece. He corrected the dangerous wiring, installed new switches, resoldered, addressed the biasing, replaced capacitors inserting a multi-turn bias adjustment, scraped and cleaned and transformed it. The amp works beautifully its integrity restored. I am so grateful for Chris’ time which I am sure he underestimated his skills and his expertise which I believe are unrivalled. Don’t bother looking for anyone else to work on your amplifiers. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris for any job. He is honest, skilled, provides feedback and updates on the process and his workmanship is of an impeccable standard. A very, very happy customer." See more

09.01.2022 Most of us probably know that I’m not, in general, a huge fan of the sound of Mesa Boogie rectifier amps. But you have to love it when a customer is trusting enough to say make it sound good to your ears, Chris. I did. Thank you Scott! OMG. This Mesa sounds bloody awesome. Gone is that nasty preamp buzz. It now Responds to touch and guitar volume beautifully. I love it. (Doubters please note this date of 20 November 2020 when I said I love the sound of (a) Mesa Boogie and remind me when a Triple Rectifier lands on my bench and I start swearing again)

07.01.2022 No words need be spoken. I can only imagine how envious you are.
