16.01.2022 FLU VACCINATIONS ** IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING COLD OR FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS OR HAVE RECENTLY RETURNED FROM OVERSEAS, PLEASE CONTACT THE CLINIC AND WE WILL ORGANISE A DOCTOR REVIEW VIA TELEHEALTH ** We have received our private Flu Injections, they are available for $20 beginning Tuesday March 31st.... Our dedicated flu clinic will look a little different this year. As we are all aware, the risks surrounding COVID-19 are real. We want to reassure you that we prioritise the safety of our patients and staff. For this reason our flu clinics this year will require patients to: * Contact Reception (07 5482 8422) to book your appointment slot. * Payment for the injection will also ideally be taken over the phone at the time of booking. For patients who do not have this facility we can take cash payments at the time of injection. To access the Flu Clinics: * Enter the clinic driveway via Channon Street and follow the signage. * Injections will be done in the car if you choose. OR * If you prefer there will be an open-air clinic with seating (to be disinfected after each patient) or standing areas adhering to current government distancing guidelines. * Injections will be given by a Nurse under the supervision of a Doctor. * You will be advised to remain in the car park for 15 minutes post-injection at which time if you are feeling well, you can leave via Queen Street. CHILDREN AND FAMILIES We understand that children may feel more comfortable within the clinic or in a more private setting for their injection. If you and your child are well with no respiratory symptoms we invite you to contact Reception and book a Flu Injection Appointment with your Doctor. GOVERNMENT FUNDED FLU VACCINATIONS We are still awaiting our stock of government funded flu vaccinations. We will update as soon as we have these available. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding in the current time.

10.01.2022 SCRIPT REQUESTS Script requests can still be made over the phone. Due to the volume of requests received, all requests will have a two business day turnaround and our standard $10.00 fee charged upon pick up of the script. ... In addition, it has always been our policy that all requests for Schedule 8 and certain Schedule 4 medications need an appointment to ensure safe prescribing and this has not changed. Scripts will be issued at the discretion of patient’s doctor. If you are unsure of if your medication requires an appointment, please contact our reception team.

06.01.2022 We are pleased to open our online bookings again. As of March 30, 2020, the Australian Government has opened telehealth item numbers to everyone with a valid Medicare card. This service is completely bulk-billed. Patients can now book telephone appointments by going through our website at www.thegympieclinic.com.au and clicking book online. Alternatively, click on the following link https://automedsystems.com.au//the-gympie-clinic-/doctors/. Appointments can be booked as s...tandard or long appointments. Telehealth services involving video consults can be conducted and we are working with service providers to find a solution which is as patient friendly as possible. Once we have a solution which works well, patients can then book video consults online. We will keep you up to date with the development in this space. There are new services that can be accessed through telehealth. These services include mental health care plans, Indigenous health assessments and chronic disease management items. We envisage increasing mental health strains for the whole community during this pandemic. We want you to know that we are here to listen and help and highly encourage our patients who need mental health support at this time to call us. Unfortunately, it is not clear whether new patients can access these telehealth services under Medicare. The current assumption is that a patient needs to have been seen within a clinic for a face-to-face consult in the last 12 months to access these services. ** As such, we are still not taking new patients until we get further clarification from Medicare. **

01.01.2022 WELCOME JASON We are so excited to welcome Jason to our administration team. He’s friendly, funny and ready to answer your calls!
