07.01.2022 OzManouche Festival 26th to 29th Nov 2020 at The Brisbane Jazz Club OzManouche is a festival dedicated to jazz manouche held in Brisbane at the Brisbane Jazz Cl...ub from 26th to 29th November 2020. This year we will be celebrating our 15th consecutive year as Australia's premier gypsy jazz festival and continuing our dedication to Australian gypsy jazz artists by featuring the best of the Brisbane gypsy jazz scene. This year's artists include: the Shenzo Gregorio Quartet Gregorio Quartet, Manouche Bop featuring Brisbane guitarist, Camaron de la Vega, Run Rabbit featuring Jan Van Dijk (Swing Dynamique), Rory Dollard and Conor Mcdonald (Cigány Weaver) and the Italian influenced swing of the Gypsy.Cats. With music festivals being cancelled and borders closed around the country due to the pandemic. Festival Creative Director, Cameron Jones was asked how is it was that OzManouche has managed to go ahead this year. "OzManouche is in a unique position. We are based in Queensland where the pandemic recovery has been strong, and there's a pool of musicians performing gypsy jazz and acoustic swing music. Rather than looking at the pandemic situation as a negative, we thought that this year's festival would be an incredible opportunity to showcase the quality of artists performing gypsy jazz music in Queensland. OzManouche has had an unbroken run in the 15 years since its inception and we felt that, if it were possible, we should go ahead. Both for the sake of the musicians and our audience." The festival is operating under COVID-safe conditions. Seating is strictly limited; please contact the club box office for all ticket sales and enquires.
