25.01.2022 Put together a Covid19 Care Package for my mumma today...I made her a fitted and a pleated mask, added a few carbon PM2.5 filters for the masks, a travel size hand sanitizer to clip to the outside of her handbag when she goes shopping and a vintage heart I made using 19th century French handprinted linen and antique gold metallic ecclesiastical ribbon to show her I love her

25.01.2022 Velvet fabric I recently had printed by a printer in Melbourne, featuring my own gouache paintings made into a repeat pattern. All my own original art. I love designing my own textiles and then using my fabrics to make something. This beauty will be made into an upholstered armchair for my reading corner. DIY in the true sense of the word!

19.01.2022 STUDIO LIFE I am getting through al your orders though I won't hit the deadline I set myself today. The way I am working is that I make all the masks up to almost finishing stage and then I will stitch all the nose wires in and do the side pleats that I do to allow a bit more of a lift around the cheek area to help with comfort. I found that by adding the little tuck it gives a bit more fullness at the front of the face to help with breathing. I love mine and feel super go...od with it on when taking a taxi, at the doctor's for a check-up or the shops. So if I can ask your patience for a couple of days until Wednesday as I have 50 plus masks but also travel packs to make up and it is just me here. I also try to look after my own health by doing just one post drop a week as my local is always so busy and not everyone is a Covid-safe game player. I will send them all off, without fail Wednesday afternoon. On a side note though, I am loving the blush linen masks with ties or earloops, and this black with grey crosses print is also a fave! 17.01.2022 First self-drafted garment of the new year and quite possibly the first in many years. I still have my old cardboard dress blocks from college which are from 1996 and I haven't made anything with them until today. I drafted a Mexican Huipil-come-Kimono top with curved underarm seams. Remember that piece of linen I dyed with avocado pits and skins and then block printed with my hand-drawn Waratah print? I finally used it and did a little sleeve trim as well. Super happy with... how this turned out considering I haven't made a dress pattern from scratch for years. It fits perfectly and is super light to wear. I leave for Europe next weekend and then to Dubai where the desert heat will suit this linen top perfectly. This is my year of experimenting with textiles, and a big part of that will see me making my own clothes, using my own sewing patterns and fabrics. 16.01.2022 Spent my Friday night cutting out cushions to sew from my Hummingbird Paradise fabric, as well as cut out and made linen tea towels. The pink tea towel was dyed with avocado seeds and block printed with my Waratah design and the taupe coloured one was dyed with walnut husks and then block printed by hand with my Hosta leaf design. 14.01.2022 Handmade project bags. I design and make these unique bags in my Sydney studio. I embroider/screenprint/sew everything myself and I also love to use other vintage and new textiles and leathers from around the world. 08.01.2022 INDIGO Finished my embroidered wall hoop. I used some linen I painted with rice flour resist paste. I then dipped it a few times in the indigo dye vat. Embroidered with raw silk thread using a chain stitch and framed on a vintage embroidery hoop. DM if you would like to own this piece of original textile art, $45 plus postage

I am taking pre-orders for pleated and fitted masks with either cotton lycra ties or adjustable toggle earloops. 3 layers of fabric, cottons and linens, including a filter pocket. Filters $1 each Travel Kits $50ea plus postage include: Handmade zippered pouch with a front pocket I designed for a pr of latex gloves, travel sanitiser, mask of your choice and a PM2.5 filter. Turnaround time is 2 weeks from today as I have a few orders and am away until the 4th of August. Non-medical grade masks but a better alternative than no mask or the blue surgical masks.
