25.01.2022 "THE FESTIVAL OF THE FOX" So, 8 yrs ago my life changed course. After being told 16 yrs previously I wasnt ever likely to be able to have children I got the surprise of my life one day when I discovered this was absolutely not true! 6 months later my little Felix Fox was born and he not only helped to heal my heart but opened it up to so much more love and happiness than Im sure I ever could have had otherwise. It was one of the scariest times of my life though. So much f...ear about being a good mother, role model and the whole shock of the impending responsibility. He grounded me (quite literally)! My husband will tell you I was constantly fighting the urge to buy a one way ticket to Africa to escape my past traumas and potential ones that I assumed were only a matter of time away. Settling down was something I was scared of. Running away was something I was very good at, I mean, it is so much easier! Along with Felix though, came so much love and closeness from family, friends, colleagues and of course my lovely Luke and then meeting my new tribe of Mum friends in the Fern that just helped make my new mum life so supported and rich with laughter. Ive learnt so much the last 8 yrs. Ive loved and laughed more than I ever knew was possible. I may not have travelled the globe recently but I have travelled and gotten to know this new special part of my heart. Every year at this time I get so emotional about all of the above, and so grateful for everything that I have been blessed with, so this year with Happy Fox Designs I am going to celebrate all of this by offering 8 DAYS OF SPECIALS. Each day, starting tomorrow, there will be a new special posted on Instagram and Facebook at 8am. This is my way of celebrating life, love and happiness and hoping to share it with all of you! 25.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC week, one of the single most important weeks in the Australian calendar. Always Was, Always Will Be recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The words cared for really resonate with me, particularly in the midst of the climatic crisis that we are in. We have so much to learn from our First Nations people. There’s lots of celebrations around the country but if you can’t get t...o an event there’s many ways you can help. You can choose to support a blak business or charity, listen to some blak stories, celebrate NAIDOC at home and at work, wear some Aboriginal made clothing, or learn some more about the myriad of issues that indigenous Australians are currently facing.
