21.01.2022 NEW QLD DRIVE-IN TESTING STATION: The BP Westbound Truckstop at Charlton just west of Toowoomba is now open for drive-in Covid testing. Signage is in place to ...show drivers where to enter and exit the test site. The test should take around 15 minutes and is available from 8.30am-4pm, each day. Drivers will be given a self-collection kit so they can collect a swab themselves with the help and supervision of Darling Downs Health staff, or if they’d prefer a Darling Downs Health nurse can collect the swab for them. Although seven-day testing is still voluntary, the QTA strongly recommends that drivers/transport support workers entering Queensland from hotspots commence the process as soon as possible. 05.01.2022 Hi how are we all just wondering if there and anyone out there that is willing to give my friend a go she has her Mc, dangerous goods licence , white card , bfm... , forklift . She is a very hard worker and is willing to give anything a go she has done some change over driving some over size loads . Yes she is green to the industry and we been going to driving schools just to get more seat time behind the wheel just looking for some one to give her a fair go and more then just a round the block drive or 10 min drive and make there decision on just that she has proven if she can have more time behind the wheel of the particular truck she to drive she able to work out how that truck like to be driven . so if any one has somthing or even a truck we could get some seat one in happy to pay instead of the training trucks . 03.01.2022 Last weekend I rode the Tumbarumba rail trail with Miriam and the kids, parents in-laws and two of my nephews. It was great to see it busy and local businesses ...flat out. Driving back into Coolac my youngest (10 year old), still excited about the day we had, asked when are they building the rail trail here? I could ride and visit my friends (in Coolac and Pettit), we could ride to the new cricket nets and to the Coolac store, new service station or the pub for a milkshake or take away. Oh and we could ride into town and go into nans and you could pick us up. With my kids growing up quick, it made me think about how many kids have missed out or will miss out on all the great opportunities the rail trail would bring around Gundagai, Coolac Tumblong and all the places in between and beyond while we wait for the NSW government to act. With governments prepared to spend big dollars on infrastructure to stimulate economies, let’s get them to spend it here and build the trail now, Cootamundra to Batlow.
