23.01.2022 QUADRATUS LUMBORUM MUSCLE (QL) [HOW DAILY HABITS CAN CHANGE POSTURE] If you doesn't work on biomechanical dysfunction and muscle imbalance properly it can f...orce pain situations in your body up- or downstream through an so-called ascending or descending kinematic chain. Consider the positions you are in throughout the day, those are your habits and your body will adapt to them! How putting all your bodyweight on one leg can screw up your back? I always emphasize to patients about knowing how to feel a connection with their feet to the ground (how do you ground yourself down like a sturdy) - as you can see, if you're the type of person who loves to just sag your pelvis off to one side and totally load up one leg like a crutch when standing, the long term issues can lead to all these different things happening upstream - all of a sudden 3 months later all you can complain about is this nagging back issue that seems to be an annoyance to resolve! You keep away at the site of pain, forgetting to address and adjust and bring awareness to what the feet are doing. If your hip and your feet aren't communicating, they're not going to want to work in synchronization to create a nice stable base for your torso, chest, upper back, neck, shoulders and head to sit nicely on of. Solution? Learn to stand still. If you don't want to, then learn to play hot potato (constantly move, don't let these dysfunctional patterns solidify)! #Physiotherapy #SportsPhysiotherapy #Osteopathy #MyoFascial #Release #Therapy #Triggerpoint #QL #Yoga #Treatment #Chiropractic #Blackroll #Muscle #Pain #PhysicalTherapy #InjuryPrevention #Rehab #Fascia #Medicine #Sportstherapy #Massage #Pain #Healing #Rolfing #Fitness #Training #Pilates #Gym #CrossFit #Anatomy #Massage #Treatment #ManualTherapy See more

19.01.2022 There are few people in the world these days who don't suffer because of levator scapulae pathology. Here are some of the contributors, all related to poor posture: Your shoulders are up around your ears -drop them down, and then drop them down some more! Head forward posture - sit up straight, lower your shoulders and bring your head back Head bent over - if you're texting lift your phone up, make sure your computer screen is at the correct height so you're not look...ing down, don't use a laptop for extended periods. Holding a phone between your ear and shoulder - don't do it, get a headset. Wrong training habits - make sure you don't overload your weights and that your posture is correct Any position where your head is turned to one side, such as looking at your computer screen and watching TV. Sitting with one leg curled up underneath you - this puts your hips out of alignment, which ultimately causes lower back and shoulder problems as your body compensates for the misalignment. Sit with both feet flat on the floor. As a therapist who specialises in workplace massage I see this all too often. Many people have more than one computer screen these days and sit with their head turned to one side for hours on end. The best advice here is to turn your whole body to face the screen you are looking at rather than turning just your head. If you can't do that - consider changing your screens around each week (or even daily) so that you alternate which direction you're turning your head. Here's another good tip for improving posture...focus on your lower back and that will automatically improve your shoulder posture. To do this, make sure that you're sitting more towards the front of your chair with a slightly over-exaggerated curve in your lower back and both feet flat on the floor. You'll find that it is impossible to slouch your shoulders if you sit with a curve in your lower back - give it a try and you'll see what I mean. Many people just tell me "I've got bad posture", as if that's just the way things are and they can't do anything about it. CHANGE IT! Unless you were born with structural issues (and most people aren't) bad posture is something you have developed and is also something you can change.

08.01.2022 Another good reason to meditate...
05.01.2022 I see so much of this in the corporate massage work I do. People tell me all the time "I have very bad posture" but most aren't very interested in doing anything about that, or maybe they think they can't do anything about that. The thing is, people are not born with bad posture and this is something that can be changed if you're willing to make the effort.
04.01.2022 A common misconception about soy foods is that they promote breast cancer growth due to the phytoestrogens. However, there are two different types of estrogen r...eceptors in the bodyalpha and beta receptors. Soy phytoestrogens bind to and activate beta receptors, which have an anti-estrogenic effect, inhibiting the growth-promoting effects of actual estrogen. This is something we’ve known for more than 10 years. So, where did this outdated notion that soy could increase breast cancer risk come from? A study on mice. It turns out, though, that we are not actually mice. Watch the video "Is Soy Healthy for Breast Cancer Survivors?" on http://NutritionFacts.org to learn more: http://bit.ly/2pEBUAe See more
