25.01.2022 Just training in one direction is like training 1% and missing out on the other 99%.. In movement we don’t just move in one direction which is what most exercise programs do (just back & forth). What really happens is that we shift between 3-planes of motion. These 3-planes are back & forth, side to side & in rotation. This is how we inherently move. So when developing a base level of coordination for our sport it is important to really consider this. Reason being - our a...bility to react to real sporting situations is very dependent upon our 3D movement capacity. Which is about being able to achieve a diverse or wide range of movement patterns at a given time. Even when starting out & beginning a new sport there are some very basic building blocks that need to be incorporated in relation to our 3D movement. Tennis, AFL, Soccer... like most sports all require this as a key fundamental - it is the nature of field-based sports. Sport is non-linear & so our conditioning needs to reflect this. This does require practice & is a skill and a lot of the time its overlooked or performed without deliberate practice in mind. But there is a huge scope for improvement just by putting some time into the 3D movement principle particularly when we are just starting out & building the skill sets it’s a very key fundamental.



21.01.2022 Challenges and pitfalls of starting a new routine: Sticking to a new exercise program can be difficult for a few reasons they are often too complex (too many exercise), not time efficient, not practical based on your child’s capabilities, not enjoyable & finally they are not held accountable... these are the common pitfalls when starting out, but don’t worry, we have all made these mistakes. The GOAL first up is to achieve sustainability - because if it's not sustainable ...then it's not going to work. For a routine to be sustainable it needs to be realistic in terms of what they can achieve (weekly frequency). It needs to be relevant to what your child needs to work on. It needs to be simple enough & based on the fundamental of movements (less is more). & finally, they need to be held accountable & given a degree of responsibility for the plan.

Its specifically for people that have found coordination to be a challenge growing up where I will personally coach you to enhance your movement, skill & competitiveness in your chosen sport. This is a real opportunity to build upon fundamentals that I have found to be overlooked!
