23.01.2022 Big day filming healthy #matchfit recipes including apple crumble, choc avocado mousse, chia pudding and pork san choy bow. We also filmed a clip on what to stock and what to drop in the pantry and fridge. My big tip is to keep the pantry trim and the fridge fat. In other words bugger of the package snack pantry foods and fill the fridge with fresh seasonal produce. If there is only good stuff to eat you will only eat good stuff, trust me this works. #health #nutrition #realfood #nourish #nutritionist #healthysnacks

22.01.2022 Protein balls, friend or foe? Unfortunately many commercial protein balls are high in sugar and actually very low in protein. Ive been playing with a few ingredients and have formulated the best little protein ball to power you through the afternoon. Ingredients:... 1 cup almonds 1/4 cup black chia seeds 4 tbsp cacao powder 1/4 cup tahini 1/4 cup collagen protein 4 dates Water Shredded coconut (to roll) The ratio of fats, protein and sugars are bang on in this recipe. Low sugar, high protein and a good whack of healthy fats. Almonds, chia and tahini are also excellent dairy free sources of calcium. It is important to look at dairy free calcium sources if you follow a paleo/ dairy free diet approach. 20.01.2022 Yay!! Our weekly cooking class / workshop for the #strivestronger 30DB online performance program. Today I whipped up zucchini fritters plus a spicy broccolini and lentil salad. All done in less then 50 minutes. Quick, easy, delicious, balanced and vegetarian friendly (minus the smoked salmon) Its a great idea to include a few vegetarian friendly meals throughout the week, I actually like to whip up these fritters for dinner when I get home late from work. ... Fennel and carrot are family members, both providing immune protective vitamin C and vitamin A. I usually use fennel raw in salads but this seasonal new option is definitely a winner.
