01.06.2022 Come and see us in Agnes Water!

26.05.2022 Are you crystal clear on your goals? The majority of my clients come to me with two main goals: 1. Less pain 2. Better function/movement This is a great place to start! But, what I have found is that if we don’t chunk it down into more specific goals we may not see all of the changes and improvement that occur.... Often a person will achieve LESS PAIN quite quickly, but they still have some pain, which typically as humans we FOCUS on. It’s not until we delve deeper and ask questions like what’s the pain out of ten now? How far can you walk without pain now? How often are you getting headaches now? That they might think WOW! Although I still have SOME PAIN I have come a long way from when I started care. So I urge you with your goals to be a bit CLEARER. This example is for a particular health goal, but you can use it in any part of life. So now when people start Chiropractic care I ask them specific questions that I re-ask after 6 weeks. While the pain may still be there (imagine a pain you’ve had for years) it’s often a lot better than before AND they may not realise the other changes that have occurred in the body over that time. If you have pain at the moment, check in with yourself - Where is it? What time of day is it at it’s worst? What’s it stopping you from doing? How far can you walk, jog, run without pain? If you can walk 10 minutes pain free, make your goal to walk 20 minutes pain free! Do you have any health goals you’d like some CLARITY on? Feel free to comment or DM me, I’d love to help PS, How beautiful is this water at #heronisland !!!

12.05.2022 You’re still writing your own book, if you don’t like the last few chapters you’ve had, you can rewrite the next ones Anna Daniels. I was lucky to spend last Sunday morning with women who inspire and support me. I loved hearing from Anna Daniels who has written her own novel and often features on The Project! She really hit home when she talked about the current research showing that our thoughts and beliefs create our environment an...d future. So let’s believe and expect big things for ourselves she said. You might think that in a small town fellow health professionals may be competitive. For us 3 it’s actually the opposite! 15.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW Chiropractors are trained to assess and treat the whole body, not just the spine. While we do focus on the spine and nervous system, chiropractors may be able to help with your other joint problems too. Your chiropractor may use adjustments, mobilisations, taping, stretching and strengthening exercises for ankle pain.

14.01.2022 Have you heard of TEXT NECK? Its a new diagnosis for neck pain caused by spending too long hunched forward over a phone or iPad. The reason for the new name is that its a fairly new problem! 20 years ago we didnt all have mobile phones, and if we did we certainly werent hunched over them for hours on end. Symptoms of text neck may include:... - Neck pain, stiffness, aching and tightness - Headaches - Nagging or sharp pain between the shoulders - General pain and soreness Did you know that for every centimetre our head moves forward from our correct posture, it puts an extra 4 kgs of load on our upper back! Think about this pressure over a whole day and week!

14.01.2022 Poor lifting techniques can cause many lower back issues, especially repeated over a period of time. Poor lifting technique and weak core muscles can put extra LOAD/STRESS on the lumbar spine (lower back). Always try to BEND at the KNEES when lifting objects, no matter how heavy they are. Getting into good movement habits all the time can PREVENT injuries, especially as we age.... https://www.facebook.com/viralthread/videos/778846485621370/

02.01.2022 GUT HEALTH Try some of these simple tips to increase the good bacteria in your digestive system: - Eat real, whole foods! - Avoid sugar - Add some fermented foods to your diet: sauerkraut (like this one), kimchi, kombucha and natural yoghurt all contain good bacteria for your gut. Start small and build up with these foods. - Dont overuse antibiotics - these deplete the good bacteria in the gut. If you do need them, make sure youre supplementing with a high quality probiotic to replenish the good bacteria!

01.01.2022 Simple steps to AVOID TEXT NECK: Tag a friend who needs to see these! 1. Try to hold your phone at eye level as much as possible, so that your neck isnt in flexion which may put pressure on your spine... 2. Take regular breaks from your screen. Get up and have a quick walk and shoulder roll, even if its just a walk into another room and back, it all adds up 3. Limit your screen time to less than 2 hours a day! 4. Do some simple neck stretches daily (more on this in the next post) 5. Be mindful about what youre actually doing on your phone. Were all guilty of pointlessly scrolling through Facebook and Instagram, but think about using that time more wisely, listening to a podcast could be a better use of your time. 6. Try going for a walk outside instead! Or find another hobby which challenges your brain and gets you in a better posture.
