22.01.2022 Lest We Forget

22.01.2022 We need your help! We are on the search for the culprit that has sacrificed one of our very loved Smurfs to our resident menace crocodile ‘Crickey’. Belinda is very upset by the event & we want to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. ... You can remain anonymous if you wish, no names will be mentioned and we are happy to refrain from calling the police if the culprit comes forward and apologises to the traumatised Smurfs who witnessed the whole thing. We believe the awful event occurred today (Tuesday 21st) between 12:00pm and 2:30pm. Any information at all is so grateful appreciated. If you can help us identify the person responsible we are willing to shout you a cup of coffee! What an incentive to get onboard and help us on our search! Happy Tuesday guys!

19.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE 5 Aug 2020 - LOCAL CASES UPDATE - VICTORIA & QLD BORDERS - MASK ADVICE... - RESTAURANTS AND CAFES LOCAL CASES There are no change to the number of local cases since my last update, and no current active cases. If you have any symptoms, please go and get yourself tested. Together we can keep the Coffs Coast COVID free. VIC & QLD BORDERS For perspective, NSW had 12 new cases yesterday and VIC was 725! Following a further tightening of entry restrictions earlier this week, NSW residents returning from Victoria must go into mandatory hotel quarantine for 14 days at their own expense. This regime, designed to protect the wider NSW community from the escalating COVID-19 situation in Victoria, will come into effect at 12.01am this Friday. All returning NSW residents, unless they live within the NSW border regions, will only be allowed to return to NSW through Sydney airport. A strict permit system is in place for all flights arriving in NSW from Victoria and passengers undergo comprehensive police and health checks upon arrival. All flights are met by NSW Health staff and police officers to ensure anyone entering NSW complies with the current health orders. There are only limited reasons anyone from Victoria should be entering NSW and people have been turned back despite being allowed on the plane in Melbourne. Victorian residents are not permitted into NSW at all unless they are needed for specific purposes and even then have to apply for and get a permit. Anyone who flies into NSW from Victoria must either be a NSW resident or have a relevant permit that allows entry into NSW that can include: Defence officials; Doctors and nurses; Critical workers in energy, mining and construction; Child Protection workers; and Disability workers. Upon arrival into NSW all passengers from Victoria are: Given masks if they left on them the plane Temperature checked; Asked relevant questions about their health; and Their permit is checked to ensure it complies with the strict permit system. Anyone without a valid permit is referred to NSW Police and taken to the Special Health Accommodation to complete 14 days of quarantine. Queensland will close it s borders to NSW from 1am Saturday 8 August. All visitors will be denied entry to QLD except for rare exceptions, and returning Queenslanders will have to pay for 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine. MASK ADVICE The NSW Government is strongly encouraging greater use of masks in high-risk public settings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The advice from the NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant specifically recommends: The use of face masks in indoor settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain, such as on public transport or in supermarkets; The use of face masks (where practical) in indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission, such as for the staff of hospitality and customer-facing venues i.e. cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs; and During attendance at places of worship. Wearing a mask in any of these settings is not mandatory but is highly recommended, especially in areas where there has been community transmission. RESTAURANTS & CAFES Please remember that it is now compulsory to sign in with your name and contact details to any restaurant, cafe, pub, or club. The guidelines are here https://www.nsw.gov.au//indu/restaurants-cafes-food-courts Why? So we don’t end up like Victoria. We need to be able to trace any potential contact with positive cases. Please don’t take out your frustration on the staff - they’re doing their best to keep YOU safe.

15.01.2022 Freshly baked muffins anyone?!

15.01.2022 We have had a crazy amount of enquires come through in relation to the government announcing cafes/restaurants can now have 10 people dine in. We have had a really long think about it and at the moment we WILL NOT be making any changes. Unfortunately like most of the new rulings we have found there is a lot of grey areas. This is a heartbreaking decision as we are missing you all so much and we are so excited to have your smiling faces back in the shop. We don’t ever want any...one to come into our shop and feel like they are on a limited time. We are going over ways that work for us in order to implement these changes and we will endeavour to inform you as soon as any changes are made moving forward. Stay safe. Stay strong. And most of all stay healthy. We intend to be here for the long term and plan on you all coming back as soon as possible. Our health and your health are of the utmost importance to us now more so than ever. We thank you for your patience and understanding in these crazy, uncertain times. For now, we are still doing takeaway so you can get your coffee & burger fix. Love Belinda, Alan & Claire
