24.01.2022 Check out Term 3's Advanced Camera Class (under 18's) short film that we made called "Christmas Detention" Script and characters were created by the students.

23.01.2022 Term 4 drama classes are starting next week!! MONDAY 12 October - Friday 18th December As per tradition - all Kids / Teens will be performing their showcase material to parents and family who will be watching (though this time from home or on any device)... *still keeping inline with the Covidsafe option* IMPROVISATION They will be working towards performing several improvised scenes live online with suggestions from parents and family. Yes, that means anything can happen! SCRIPTED SCENE Each group will also perform a scripted scene that will be under 5 minutes. This can either be written by a student(s) or a script they have found. MULTIPLE CAMERAS We will be using ATEM mini program that will allow multiple cameras to be filming the performances. It will also give a much better quality of picture and sound on zoom. PERFORMANCE DATES The dates have been split into two due to the hall having limited numbers. All KIDS classes will perform on Monday 30th November, then all TEEN classes will perform on Tuesday 1st December. Students will arrive at 4.30pm Online performance will be at 5pm. Parents will be given a zoom link to watch from any device. Parents will then pick up kids at 7pm. U18 ADVANCED CAMERA CLASS The kids/Teens advanced camera class will start off with a screening of their short film "Christmas Detention" that was completed last term. The first five weeks will be looking at acting exercises and techniques (Please bring your note book) The last five weeks will be working on another short film. ADULT CLASSES Monday nights Adult class will continue with extending their short film and developing their characters. Tuesday Night Beginner Class will be working on comedy scenes with partners. 22.01.2022 This coming break, we have two HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS! Both involve filming via Imovie. Students are encouraged to bring an ipad. Creating our own films will be great fun for everyone - and everybody will receive a copy of the films. Kids (1 minute films) Tues 29th Sept 10-2... 19.01.2022 FILMED LIVE THEATRE PERFORMANCE! This term the students will be developing two theatre performances. The first in WEEK 5 and the second in WEEK 10. They will be performing in the halls during their class time and it will be filmed live via zoom. Parents (and family) will be given a zoom link that they can watch live from their phones (or another device). It will also be recorded for those who wish to watch it later and are unable to watch it live.... This is to give the students a chance to perform a theatre piece to a live audience and to have family watch safely under Covid restrictions from their home. 09.01.2022 We're back again - starting tomorrow! Term 2 - Monday 27 April to Friday 3 July This term all of the students will be making films via zoom. The idea is for everyone to be as creative as possible with their characters and working together as a group to develop some really fun and exciting projects!... At the end of last term most of us got a bit of a head start already. Here are examples: Music videos News reports Trivia show Q & A show Worst online dating show Video blogging diaries ...and many more I'm sure. I can't wait to get back into it!!! 06.01.2022 Congratulations to Zara for being accepted into the Performing Arts school of her choice. Zara did several private lessons with me to prepare for her audition. Apparently she performed her monologue and was accepted immediately afterwards! Great to hear her hard work paid off. Her mum left a very nice review. Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------... My daughter has been attending Hills Drama School for the past 2 years. Her first experience was at a holiday workshop which she loved, and she immediately wanted to attend classes at the school. The Hills Drama School offers many practical opportunities like performing at the Short, Sharp, Theatre Competition, performed at the Riverside Theatre (where they won best script) and the advanced class specialising in auditions and self tapes. Zara recently took private lessons with Aaron in preparation for auditioning for a performing arts high school where she was successful. Aaron is a fabulous teacher, very relaxed and encouraging. He is very professional, knows his art form and has the ability to bring out the best in the kids. Highly recommended!!! Corynne
