25.01.2022 We have been approved to run the ELLA Mandarin programme within our service! Along with our Mandarin Teacher Cathy we are excited to officially get underway with our immersion of mandarin within our Toddler Community and Childrens House! Cant wait!

25.01.2022 Today there was soo much cool stuff happening in the sandpit with our loose parts materials! It was soo awesome to stand back and watch what they were doing and see how their brains work!

24.01.2022 AGED CARE: People can no longer visit aged care facilities on Brisbanes South due to an increased risk of COVID-19 in the community. COVID-19 screening will in...crease and staff transfers will be limited between facilities. If you feel sick, stay home and immediately call your GP or 13 HEALTH to arrange a test. I know these measures are incredibly tough, but its what we need to do to keep the most vulnerable people in our community safe. #covid19au

24.01.2022 Brisbane will enter a three-day lockdown to stop the spread of the highly contagious UK strain of COVID-19. From 6pm tonight until 6pm Monday, people in the loc...al government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan will be required to stay at home except: Shopping for essentials, food and necessary supplies Medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate requirements Exercise with no more than one other person, unless all from the same household Providing care or assistance to an immediate family member Work, or volunteering, or study if it is not reasonably practicable to work or learn remotely Child custody arrangements Legal obligations Visit for end of life Attend funeral or wedding in line with restrictions Further restrictions include: No more than two visitors to the household per day (in addition to anyone else currently staying in the household), excluding care workers or volunteers All businesses that can remain open must adhere to one person per 4 square metres with maximum of 20 to 50 with COVID Safe or Industry Plan Restaurants and cafes to provide takeaway service only Cinemas, entertainment and recreation venues, gyms etc to close Places of worship to close Weddings involve a maximum of 10 people, including the celebrant and witnesses Funerals involve a maximum of 20 people Mandatory mask wearing anywhere outside of your home No visitors to aged care facilities, hospitals, disability accommodation services or correctional facilities. As we prepare for the possibility of more cases across the state, let’s do what Queenslanders do best stick together and help each other out. The most important thing we want you to know is that you should be aware of, and informed, but not alarmed. Our experienced staff have responded strongly to this pandemic over the past 12 months and will do so again. 23.01.2022 Behaviour is another form of communication. As an adult, we can help our children learn to find whats underneath, whats actually going on. Learning at a young age will help them as they grow to regulate their emotions and know they arent bad or naughty.

23.01.2022 This weekend our team along with the crew from Greenheart spent the weekend together at our annual staff retreat! This included yoga, annual talent show and first ever I AM Olympics. We learnt about filling our own and each others cups and looking after our well-being.... We also created by painting cups and self portraits and weaving baskets! It was an amazing weekend in an amazing location! They all deserved it

23.01.2022 Tonight’s training was focusing on the 0 to 3 child. Our team was joined by Educators from other centres as part of a three week deep dive into Montessori :)

23.01.2022 Working with the clock... part of our Maths curriculum!

22.01.2022 Today our Art teacher Raine came in today to start the work on our big collaboration piece! We are very excited to see what happens when we put Fridays work with todays group and create a piece for our new classrooms!

22.01.2022 The toilet roll analogy... It is often how we respond to the small things that reflect how well respond to the big things. A very practical example we can shar...e with our kids too! Do your kids change the toilet roll when they are done? What age did they start? What you do with an empty toilet paper roll surprisingly says a lot about YOU. I was around 18 when someone said this to me and its always stuck with me..... There are people in this life and some of them will never be willing to go out of their way to fix a problem, to help, or to lend a hand- even when theyve contributed to that problem. They just wait for the next person to come along and take care of things. Then, there are people in this life who see a problem and they step in- even if they didnt have a part in causing it- and those people lend a hand to help. They dont wait for someone else to come along and fix it, they ARE the person that does. For the last 8 years, the analogy of the empty toilet paper roll has really stuck with me... because the simple act of putting a new roll on the holder is more symbolic than you might think. Do you put a new roll on, or do you wait for the next person to after youve used the last of it? Its how we handle the smallest things in life, that usually reflect on how we handle the biggest. Words: Chanda Lynn.

22.01.2022 Happy 1 Year Work Anniversary to this absolute legend Jai! Thanks for being soo awesome and we love having you on the team!

19.01.2022 Today marks four years since we opened our doors for the first time.... soo much transformation has happened in such a short period of time :) Our playground and classrooms have continued to get better and better... Our team has grown and transformed and moulded into a beautiful group of humans... some of them moving to our other centres, leaving and coming back, starting families or growing their own, starting their own businesses or looking after their health... we are soo ...fortunate for the community we have within and around our team! From 0% to 100% occupancy...soo many beautiful families joined our community... The montessori movement in the Redlands continues to grow and I am soo very proud of what our little centre has created and look forward to the many years ahead... To many of our followers, thank you for being on this journey with us... we couldn’t have done it without you all :) Happy 4 Year Anniversary Hills team!

16.01.2022 Biting is something that can sometimes happen and is most common in the Toddler years. Here is an article that can help explain this part of a childs development https://www.zerotothree.org//232-toddlers-and-biting-findi

16.01.2022 Just a little look at one of our sites at Forest School! We got to go today as the predicted storms came later in the day

14.01.2022 Knowing the quantity of each number is possible when using the numbers and counters. The goal in a montessori classroom is to move from concrete to abstract over time with isolated concepts. It’s fun, it’s easy to understand and it’s available for the child all the time in the prepared environment

14.01.2022 Walter loves the sun!

14.01.2022 Aimee has worked with us for the past year in our Childrens House as a montessori mentor. She joins us twice a week for fun in the classroom!

14.01.2022 Dont forget your Pyjamas tomorrow!

13.01.2022 This beautiful soul celebrates 3 years with us this week! Thank you Harpreet for being such an amazing person and team member! We love you as do the children!

12.01.2022 The Greater Brisbane region will transition to eased restrictions at 6pm today, following a weekend lockdown enacted to contain any potential spread of the UK v...ariant of COVID-19. The restrictions are similar to Stage 3 restrictions Queensland saw in July last year and will be in place at least until 1am 22 January. You will be allowed to leave your home for any purpose. The following gathering restrictions are in place to keep you and others safe: You must carry a mask at all times. Masks must be worn in indoor places including shopping centres and supermarkets, gyms, places of worship, libraries, public transport, and taxis and rideshare vehicles. Masks must be worn in workplaces if social distancing isn’t possible and it’s safe to do so. You don’t need to wear a mask in private vehicles, while outdoors at a safe distance from other people or if you’re doing strenuous exercise. Businesses and venues can have one person per 4m indoors and one person per 2m outdoors. Smaller venues up to 200m can have one person per 2m up to a maximum of 50. You must be seated to eat and drink, and no dancing is allowed except at weddings. Gatherings are restricted to 20 people in homes and public spaces. Weddings and funerals can have up to 100 people, and dancing is allowed at weddings without restrictions. Indoor concert venues and theatres can operate at 50% capacity or one person per four square metres, whichever is greater. Outdoor stadiums can operate at 50% capacity with COVID-safe plans. Restrictions on visits to hospitals, aged care, disability accommodation and prisons will remain. Visit here for more information https://www.qld.gov.au//easing-greater-brisbane-restrictio Over the past 72 hours, people in the Greater Brisbane area have followed lockdown and movement advice strongly. It is because of such a strong response from the community that we are able to ease these restrictions, but we aren't out of the woods yet. Thank you all for coming together - as you have before - and playing your part. Let's keep up the amazing work. Remember to always: Practise good hygiene Socially distance Exercise common sense Stay at home when unwell

08.01.2022 A list of suburbs went out last night as a restricted list of suburbs. From all the reading we have done this applies to nursing home lockdowns. The Redlands are known for the amount of aged care facilities we have out here and its great these precautionary measures have been put in place. ... Keep social distancing, washing hands and stay home if you are sick.

06.01.2022 One of my favourite bits of advise! . . @crunchy_mama_0128

06.01.2022 We had our staff meeting tonight and ran it the same way we did our Parent night! Five groups focusing on different areas of our philosophy and it was soo exciting to see the results that came out of it! Our team and community are incredible and one of our families baked these amazing cupcakes to say thank you whilst we read beautiful words sent in by lots of our other families.... We are the lucky ones - we are all here for each other and for our children x

06.01.2022 To all of our families. Please read the info below as it is extremely important.

06.01.2022 Throughout early development, children go through what we call sensitive periods where certain practices can become particularly beneficial for their developm...ent. Children under three can really benefit from a little order at home as learning to recognise the routine helps them to feel safe and secure. Here, Kate, the Deputy Manager of Unity Montessori Nursery School discusses how setting up a loose schedule for when your child is at home, can help your child feel more relaxed and safe throughout the day. A beautiful tribute to our amazing team who I am super proud of and cannot wait to see the next level we bring to Early Childhood through our combining of the Primary Caregiving Model with the montessori philosophy. ... 02.01.2022 It’s time for a frank conversation. You will NEVER be able to give every single Montessori presentation available, just like you would never be able to eat all ...the food at a buffet. . You will never succeed if you try to be your child’s teacher, just like a teacher could never transform into their parent. You have EVERYTHING you need to guide their education, just like homo sapiens parents have done for over 200,000 years. . And last but not least, there is no behind. PERIOD. Behind,is an artificial construct created by bureaucrats. Children set their own timelines from the day of conception, and we try to measure them and hurry them along before they even leave the womb. STOP. . So...Breathe. Look at your child. No, not at that Instagram child with her clean clothes and braided hair. Your child: the one who refuses to brush his hair, has a crappy pencil grip, and sleeps among LEGOs. . What do they love? Start there. What kind of parent do they need? Be that. Which abilities do they need support with? Nurture those. . #mainlymontessori #montessori #montessorielementary #montessoriathome #montessorichild #montessoriparenting #montessorihomeschool #homeschool #homeschoollife #homeschooling #homeschoolmom #keepingitreal #montessoriapproach #montessorielementary See more
