02.01.2022 Our next amazingly experienced and qualified special guest presenter for our Festivals, Events and Volunteering Workshop tomorrow is Ruth Blackhirst! Ruth grew up locally in Little Hampton and her bio is here: Ruth Blackhirst is an experienced Event Manager who oversees the operations of one of Australians most renowned events, The Falls Music and Arts Festival Lorne. Her current role at the Falls Festival covers a variety of aspects from staff management, security and cateri...ng through to traffic management, emergency planning and OHS compliance. With a background in hospitality, Ruth started her career managing conferences at different hotels including Rydges, Rendezvous, Hotel Grand Chancellor and recently, spent two years as Food and Beverage Manager at Mantra Erskine Beach Resort. She has continued to study after graduating from Daylesford Secondary College, completing diplomas in Event Management, Hospitality Management and recently obtained a degree in Human Resources at Deakin University. During the quieter months, Ruth takes on different contract roles throughout Australia including assisting with Staffing at Byron’s Splendour in the Grass, IT for Soundwave and local event volunteer roles.
