20.01.2022 Gardening engages all sorts of senses and helps children to develop and recognise them without even realising. They can feel the texture of soil, seeds, flower and petals. They get to smell all the amazing flower scents and see all the colourful petals. It also helps develop hand-eye coordination and builds physical strength. I am so excited to begin my journey here at The Hive Fairfield. ... I believe that each child is an individual and as an educator I strive to value and develop each childs strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning. In order to do this I believe that an educators most important task is to help each child feel safe, secure and supported. The relationships in early education are extremely valuable and I feel strongly that by building strong, positive relationships with each child, their families and also the community we can help the children to follow their dreams, achieve their goals and be confident, involved learners. I believe that one of the greatest gifts we can give to children is the opportunities of achievable challenges. This helps them to gain confidence and independence skills and to also support their overall learning and development. Making sure that each child has a strong sense of belonging within their environments is of utmost importance and to achieve this I feel that the space we create for them should be nurturing and welcoming.
