23.01.2022 Ally's Sweet Treats Im Allison, I have always loved baking (and eating) anything sweet. When I had my children, now aged 13 and 10, I started baking and decorating their birthday cakes. Then I started making birthday cakes for friends and family and my hobby just grew from there. I still really love making and decorating cakes but about 18 months ago, I began my cookie journey. Now, it is my absolute pleasure to make gorgeous creations in the form of decorated cookies. I guess over the years I have enjoyed playing with styles and especially colours. Now ofcourse I have 4 grand daughter to spoil and make little dresses for. But however they can only wear so much. Normally no two dresses are the same and each dress has that little bit of love imaging the... little girl who will wear it with a big smile on her face. 14.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Over the last weeks we have been carefully reviewing and speaking to the powers to be about the current restrictions on numbers and operational rules we need to adhere to for The Hive Market to run. After much discussion and the safety to our patrons and stallholders being our top priority, at this current time we have decided to reassess our reopening date in September.... We are hoping by then that restrictions for indoor/outdoor markets may have lifted even more and we can reopen as normal or very close to. In the coming months we will be working on plans for moving forward if things don't return to normal. We hope everyone is keeping well and we look forward to seeing you all again later in the year. But shall I say we stumbled back into sewing. One of my children had a terrible habbit of spilling drinks all the time & I was going through multiple t-shirt changes a day, hence our bibs were created and also less washing yey!!! There was no grand plan for a business but 6 years later we are still here creating clothing... and accessories for the little people in your life. Unfortunately to date we have had no luck with the current restrictions in place and our venue unable to be hired. We have looked at other venues but a alot are in the same position. We are hoping that come October 26th with the states borders opening we might see s...ome changes to restrictions aswell. 09.01.2022 The Hive Market will be postponing our upcoming market on April 19th. After much consultation, we have decided this is the right decision to make. We understand that markets were not classified as an event that needed to be cancelled however, with tables for seating and inside space that isnt well ventilated it was felt that the market fell into the category.... Many of our stallholders have young families or elderly parents and we werent comfortable putting anyone at risk. We are aware that some markets across the state will proceed with caution, however, we feel the decision weve made is the right one at the present time. In the coming days we will be sharing a list of our stallholders and would really encourage everyone to follow their pages and do your handmade shopping online. In 2001 Marie completed her first glass workshop and her love for the medium began. Her fascination with the versatile qualities of glass and its capacity to warp and play with light drove her to develop her skills further in order to create her own line of glass jewellery. Marie now crafts artisan glass jewellery and ceramics from her home studio, alongside... her husband Terry. Originally a timber-craftsman, Terry has had quite a transition from creating beautiful furniture and carved pieces to working with intricate copper wire and glass sand detailing to create beautiful sun catchers. For the past 20 years I have been making jewellery, mostly for myself, family and friends. I have, in the last 4 years, discovered chainmaille jewellery and am completely hooked. I find the process of linking the rings together and forming different patterns very therapeutic. Watching each pattern turn into a finished piece is also very rewarding. Fidthreads ... Hi, Im Kris of Fidthreads. Being creative is in the blood. Over the years I have explored writing, spray painting and, most recently, tie-dying. This has led me to my current craft of bleach dying and experimenting with the effects that can be created by taking away colour and dye from existing garments. I will have a range of t-shirts showing these effects, with varying styles for men, women and children.
