07.01.2022 Well another Trev's Memorial Trophy has been run and won. There were 14 drivers arrive nice and early to compete in this event which was run in two separate rac...es, one was run with the lights on and the second run with the lights off relying on the head light on the cars for keeping track of where you were on the track. We had a few newcomers turn up and one that hasn't raced since the last Trev's Memorial, being Martin Bull. We even had a few spectators come in to have a look, and showed some interest in the evenings goings on. The Red Track was in good condition with a good amount of grip and the cars were scrutineered and all passed the fitness test. The racing began on all 8 lanes and we still had people left over for marshalling. The racing was fast and furious which caused a few crashes and some minor breakdowns, everyone was quick in the daylight but when the lights went out for the second heat it was a different story, a few of the cars only had tail lights working and it made the car hard to follow when it was heading towards you as you couldn't see it until you went round a corner and you could see the tail lights so the times were a bit slower in the dark. We all stopped racing after the first heat and Mal had cooked up some hot dogs in a bun, which gave some a bit of time to do some running repairs before the darkness came. Overall it was a good nights racing, and at the end of all the racing there was a presentation with trophies and some other awards handed out. The Winner overall was Brad McPherson, coming in 2nd was Nick followed by Lloyd and then a gaggle of others. This was the last Wednesday Night for the year and racing starts back on the 6th January 2021. Thanks to Mal for running these events and putting up with us.
