25.01.2022 Very interesting research. Go Sammy!
25.01.2022 Considering the fact that we have research to show teens who diet are up to 18 times more likely to develop an eating disorder, choosing to ignore these facts and put them on diets is unethical. https://www.smh.com.au//a-diet-is-not-a-skeleton-key-to-li
18.01.2022 Everybody knows that Easter is associated with chocolate and hot cross buns, and by all means, you should enjoy the festive delights! I have just listed some nutrition tips below to stay healthy/balanced during this upcoming period: . 1. Quality > quantity. Have smaller amounts of really delicious, quality chocolate, instead of excessive amounts of subpar chocolate bought in bulk.... . 2. Practise mindful eating. Eat your chocolate slowly and try to acknowledge your hunger/fullness signals. Delicious food is for enjoying, so make sure you enjoy every mouthful! Mindless eating commonly results in overeating. . 3. Stay active. Whether you prefer structured activity like sport or gym work, or more incidental exercise like walking, try to keep moving. If Easter is typically a family time for you, encourage the fam to do some kind of activity together eg bush walk, backyard cricket or a beach swim. . 4. Don’t eat the treats when you’re starving. Be sure to maintain healthy, balanced meals with lots of veg, low GI carbohydrates and lean proteins. Save the chocolate for dessert. . 5. Try to avoid an all or nothing mentality. I.e. if you have been trying to eat healthily but tuck into some choccies, remember that you are allowed to! Eating dessert does not make you any lesser of a person. Don’t toss the rest of your nutrition out the window because you enjoyed some dessert. . I will definitely be enjoying some chocolate this Easter! See more
14.01.2022 The take-home advice is to eat a plant-based diet, she said. If you can aim to cover half your plate with vegetables and fruit, a third covered with whole grains and then smaller portions of healthy proteins and use of healthier oils, then you’re doing a great job.
11.01.2022 It means people with an eating disorder will get four times as many mental health sessions subsidised by Medicare.
