24.01.2022 This year Tocal Beekeepers field day was completely online It was great to see Adrian - The Bee Farmer give his presentation :) I did miss shopping at all the trade stands though!

21.01.2022 Due to COVID, Tocal Beekeepers' Field Day is only going to be online this year. For all the people who have messaged about getting into Bee's this is a great event to see! This year we are even more excited than normal as my brother Adrian is a guest speaker with all the info you need on buying and selling Nucleus Hives.

18.01.2022 I feel I need to apologise for the lack of communication. The last two months have been tough. Yes, we have had family directly impacted by the bushfires, not o...nce but twice. We have lost apiary sites and had queens and nuc’s stolen. Then my wonderful husband Russell, dad to Belinda (The Honey Farmer) and Adrian (The Bee Farmer) sadly passed away. We miss him so much. For everyone who is waiting on email replies, queens and nuc’s I haven’t forgotten you but ask for your understanding and patience. I will be back at it after Christmas and the New Year. Cheers Marcia See more

17.01.2022 With a long weekend just around the corner while not consider a quick break in the Colo area. We have our honey stand stocked up with normal and bushfire smoked honey. We have some great local places to eat and stay at, It will also help out our local community after the fires. 'Bielany Camp Colo River' is a great place to camp right on the colo river. With a large games room, playground and camp kitchen there are many choices to camp, byo caravan or cabin. ... Or if you're after something fancy 'The Lodge Colo River' has 7 wonderful rooms all with ensuites or try a glamper tent. The Lodge is situated on a lush 40-acre property, adjoining the Wollemi National Park and all its rugged beauty also with easy access to the river. Colo Riverside' offers the best of both worlds with a cafe and BYO camping available also with direct access to the river. If you are looking for more to do we have our local Chic N Unique - Rustyque full of old Wares - vintage, retro, antiques, collectables and much more. So why not have a relaxing long weekend by the wonderful Colo River and pick up some honey why you are here. See comments below for links.

08.01.2022 We had a really sad day on Sunday as floodwaters rose we went to the aid of my brother Adrian- The Bee Farmer to assist with hive relocation. Sadly the floodwater rose very quickly we couldn’t get all the hives out in time. Our hearts go out to Adrian and our fellow Apiarists who also lost hives in the recent flooding.

06.01.2022 Rebuilding fences since the bushfire. Louie checks out the progress

06.01.2022 Honey is a seasonal product. As we come into the cooler, wetter weather our bees will start to fly less the colony size will reduce as the Queen will lay fewer eggs. We leave honey stores on our hives over winter this is what the bees will eat during this time. This means we don't have to sugar feed our bees overwinter. Come spring the Queen bees will start to lay out more eggs the colonies will expand again and start bringing in an excess of honey.... Our last harvest for this season will be in the coming weeks then we will prep our hives for winter. We also want to take this time to thank you all for your support over what has been our most difficult season ever! We wish you and your families all the best to get through the difficult times ahead and hope to see you all on the other side safe and well. Belinda and the family.
