23.01.2022 ANNOYING COUGH? NEW RESEARCH SUGGESTS HONEY MIGHT BE THE BEST MEDICINE . Researchers in Britain have finally proven what grandma always told you - take a ...spoonful of honey if you have a cough or sore throat. Online journal, BMJ Evidence Based Medicine, which published its findings this week, also says honey is a suitable alternative to antibiotics. Two of the studies showed symptoms lasted one to two days fewer treated with honey. Sydney's University of Technology microbiologist Dr Nural Cokcetin told Breakfast presenter, Rob Blackmore honey was "particularly useful when you have a sore throat". "It is effective because honey is anti-microbial and it is also anti-inflammatory." Dr Cokcetin said he best way to take honey was a "small spoonful, about 15 grams taken directly or in tepid water".

04.01.2022 Eamonn got his first look inside a beehive today. I think he enjoyed himself. Eamonn is part of the hive hosting program, he also allows a local group to use his backyard as urban farm. Chooks, bees and veggies, way to go mate.

01.01.2022 Today I went through the #cuttings I took a couple of months ago. I was very pleased to find that thhe #Abelia, #Leptospermum and #Correa cutting have all worked. I potted them up into 6 inch Potts to grow out a bit before I plant them out in the yard. All of these plants are loved by #bees and will be a great addition to the #garden. #bees #beekeeping #thehoneysmith #canberra #propogation #plants #beefood #flowers #australiancapitalterritory #canberralife #readyforspring @ Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
