24.01.2022 Today on Remembrance Day we have launched a new world-class research institute focused on optimising the mental health and wellbeing of Australia’s current and former military members, emergency service personnel and their families. Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) has evolved from charity The Road Home, part of our Group, which was established five years ago when THRF Group took over The Repat Foundation following the SA Government’s announcement of the formal closure of the Repatriation General Hospital. 15.01.2022 Despite losing her home in the devastating bushfires in January, Kangaroo Island resident Sabrina Davis is focused on raising funds to support the farm fire units who are already preparing for the upcoming fire season. She is raising funds to purchase much-needed supplies for at least 100 farm firefighting units, and The Hospital Research Foundation is proud to be facilitating the fundraiser. Farm fire units aren’t part of the Country Fire Service, so they equip themselves ...entirely which is a huge expense, especially after their losses from the bushfires. 10.01.2022 The care and compassion provided by the team at Laurel Hospice is incredibly special to many families, and it's something that Bob and his wife Joy experienced first hand while Bob was receiving palliative care. A hand casting art therapy program was particularly meaningful for Joy, as she battled Bob’s last days and in dealing with the grief thereafter. When holding Bob’s castings, I can feel Bob it’s such a connection which I’ll continue to have, Joy said.... 07.01.2022 Two lifesaving infant warmers, called ‘panda warmers’, are now in action at the Lyell McEwin Hospital to help newborn babies thrive and avoid complications, thanks to support from The Hospital Research Foundation. As soon as a baby is born, they are put on a panda warmer to track their progress. It provides heat, records temperature, oxygen saturation levels, heartbeat and weight and also has the capability of providing emergency oxygen and resuscitation if needed.
