19.01.2022 The Fair Work Commission has today announced a 2.5% increase to minimum wages. The increase will apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2015. The new national minimum wage will be $656.90 per week or $17.29 per hour. The national minimum wage applies to employees who arent covered by an award or agreement. The increase only applies to employees that get their pay rates from the national minimum wage, a modern award or in some cases a registered agre...ement. Most employees are covered by an award. Award rates will increase by 2.5%, Fair Work Australia are currently still working on them and will be available in the next month. If youre not sure which award applies to you, please contact the HR Room for a consultation. This is also a good time of year to do a Human Resources Health Check on your business, here is a list items that may need reviewing in your business: Order New Financial Year Time books. Depending on your business, instead of forcing your full-time staff to work each shift during the holidays, hire part-time seasonal staff to work some of these more difficult to fill shifts. Communicating the policies around holiday time-off requests is especially important for new employees.
