We are currently seeing an increase in appointment cancellations in light of various factors (including COVID-19), meaning that 14,000 more donors are needed across the next few weeks to prevent a shortage of blood stocks. ... We need you to help our recipients by: Letting your Lifeblood Team members know that they can still donate if they’re feeling healthy, even if their team donation has been cancelled or they’re working from home. They can donate close to home at one of our many donor centres. Sharing Lifeblood’s post about the need for blood on your public-facing social channels. The donor centres remain open 7 days per week and ready to take donations from your Lifeblood Team members.

In the process of creating the new design for our club logo, there were discussions around how we could really bring to life what it is we do. While we still go by the name of ‘The Humanities Project’, we wanted our logo to be more representative of our commitment to social issues and student engagement. That is, we are 'pro' growth and ‘pro’ change-making. We strive to make a difference in the lives of those in the Western community and abroad and with that 'pro'-active attitude, we simply could not make a significant and meaningful impact. 02.01.2022 PROCTORU STATEMENT FROM INCOMING AND OUTGOING STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES: The current and incoming members of Western Sydney University’s SRC stand together with s...tudents who are concerned about the University’s decision to use ProctorU. Students are united in speaking up about concerns for their privacy if forced to use ProctorU to sit their compulsory exams. As of 11 am on Friday the 29th of May, a petition started by Mark Ibrahim urging the University to reconsider its decision to run exams through this proctoring service has almost 3,100 signatures. The SRC, along with the students we have been elected to represent, question the safety and security of using this system. We question the accessibility of the service, and we question the equity of the service. The SRC, like many of the Western Sydney University students who have spoken out to question whether the level of access to our devices required by ProctorU is in any way reasonable. We ask what the University is offering those who are distressed at the level of invasiveness inherent in this service, and we ask what the University is offering those who are distressed that they do not have a home environment or access to devices compatible with this service. We further stand with students and representatives from universities across Australia who have spoken out against the use of these types of proctoring services, and we urge Western Sydney University to come up with alternatives. We understand the difficulties the University is facing in managing classes and exams during the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that adapting during this time is no small task and that there are many complexities to be navigated quickly. We empathise with the University’s struggle to maintain academic integrity and to support students. However, we ask that the decision to use a proctoring service be reconsidered immediately. We ask the University to consider where it stands in the ongoing debates and legal battles regarding personal privacy that continue to rage around the world. We ask the University to stand with students.
