24.01.2022 It was wonderful to be able to support a fantastic local rescue centre, Minton Farm Animal Rescue Centre. Jim from The Hut's Community Shed has been busy making joey stands for any new joeys that may be bought into the centre. The wood was donated by the Hahndorf Bowling Club, so it really was a great collaborative community effort. We hope to bring them more in the future, so let us know if you can help with any wood donations.

16.01.2022 We are absolutely loving our new paintings from local Aboriginal artist David Booth. These paintings were painted by David for The Hut, when he ran the three week online art workshop during Reconciliation Week. They are proudly hanging in our reception area. Pop in and have a look!

11.01.2022 We had a fantastic first Mural making session with David Booth and son Lawrence today! We set to work on the design and background, each placing our hands on the design. Stay tuned to see how the mural develops next Wednesday when we will be adding symbols. This project has been developed as part of NAIDOC week - recognising and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander culture, history, stories and experiences. We thank David for his generosity so far and look forward to catching up next week.

10.01.2022 Volunteers had a fun time making masks this week. Social work student Lisa, set up this program to engage volunteers in other ways. Once we get enough masks together we will determine where the greatest need is and send them off!. Let us know if you want to get involved.

09.01.2022 We have had an amazing day with Kate from Mindful Family Life and two groups of community members creating beautiful and unique Christmas Wreaths. This was a meaningful and creative way to start the Christmas season and make something special to treasure at home. Thank you to all those who came along and to Kate for bring so many exquisite local materials for us to use!
