23.01.2022 Another great webinar coming up on the 7th December. You will get to hear about Marc's practice utilising the byproducts of macadamias! He will be Artisan in Residence in the Bundaberg Region in June 2021 and will be setting a great challenge for local artists and makers. Hear all about it at the webinar. Register to get the Zoom link. Please note artists from any region can attend this and learn about Marc's practice.

23.01.2022 This applies to our creative practice and business. Keep doing what you love - outsource those things you don't! We can grow our practice and feed our soul by making decisions like these.

23.01.2022 What creativity did you get up to over the weekend? I was writing submissions and missed my studio time this week. But here is some of what I got up to last week. Lots of mono prints! Please share what you have been doing!

22.01.2022 So many people I have been speaking with in the arts are reaching another exhaustion point right now. I am with you! Many of us have not taken time out from work this year with COVID disrupting work flow, creativity, higher levels of expectations of output on our industry from external forces and in some cases the expectations that many of us have placed on ourselves in a year when we are spending so much time at home. It's time for self-care. What are your strategies?

22.01.2022 Pru Morrison is offering one of her amazing teapots advice a lucky door prize for those attending the opening tonight or tomorrow’s exhibition. An extra incentive to come along and see the great work that has been created as a result of the CQ Shopfront Residency.

22.01.2022 Funding at the moment is coming at the arts left, right and centre as part of COVID19 responses. It is quite difficult to keep up with all the changes and short turn around submission deadlines. If you have a shovel ready project, make sure you check out what is on offer to see if it suits one of the current opportunities. These are from Arts Queensland. I suggest subscribing to the e-newsletters of all arts funding opportunities so you find out about them as soon as they are publicly announced. https://www.arts.qld.gov.au/aq-funding

22.01.2022 And the winner of the Pru Morrison lucky door prize is K A Smith!

21.01.2022 Excited to see this dream being realised. Well done Community Lifestyle Support!

03.01.2022 2020 was a big year. One of the highlights was working with the Rockhampton Art Gallery team to devise a membership program for the new Rockhampton Museum of Art. Whilst visiting, Kim Withers interviewed me for their Behind the Art Podcast series. Looking forward to working with the Rockhampton Art Gallery team on a mentoring project and a CQ Shopfront Artisan in Residence project this year.

02.01.2022 Hi everyone. This coming Monday at 5pm Expressions of Interest to participate in the CQ Shopfront Artisan in Residence mentoring program will close. These opportunities are different for each region. I encourage Central Queensland artists from the participating local government regions to apply for the one in your region. However, if there is one you would really like to participate in that is in another region, please submit an EOI and let us know why it is more relevant to ...you. This is different to the Artisan mentoring opportunity that I have recently been promoting. This is due later in January. I’d encourage you to look at that also. In the meantime, go to this link to check out the variety of Central Queensland opportunities available in Biloela, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Maryborough, Rockhampton and the North Burnett. [https://www.theideasdistillery.net/cqshopfront](https://www.theideasdistillery.net/cqshopfront) Please feel free to share this with others who you think might be worth tapping on the shoulder and letting them know about the opportunity. Thanks everyone. Please note that I am still on leave but just send me a private message if you have any questions.

02.01.2022 Tonight my family and I had the privilege of watching Riley Baldwin’s latest creation Majors and Minors. Just brilliant work Riley. What you offer to young people through this experience is truly amazing. We spent an hour debating our favourite parts of the performance! You can be so proud of what you and these wonderful performers achieved. So pleased to have played a small role in mentoring you this year. Thank you for your kind words. Looking forward to 2021!

01.01.2022 So pleased to catch up with the artists participating in the CQ Shopfront residency with Pru Morrison. Loving the work being created at Gallery 31!

01.01.2022 It was an exciting day yesterday visiting all the key stakeholders for the CQ Shopfront Artisan in Residency project with Ipswich designer/maker Marc Harrison. Marc's history of working with macadamia shells is evolving into a project utilising macadamia timber as part of this residency. We visited the Bundaberg Woodworkers Guild in the morning and met with some highly skilled members to look at their facilities. We then had the privilege of touring the new Macadamias Au...stralia Visitors' Centre currently under construction with Janelle Gerry and Sophie Steinhardt. Macadamias Australia are a valued sponsor of this project and are offering some wonderful opportunities for our community. The ever enthusiastic team at Community Lifestyle Support took us on a tour of their Makerspace that will be the home base for Marc for his residency. Up to 6 mentees will get to collaborate with Marc in this space and experience the facilities and equipment that the Makerspace has on offer. At the end of the day we wrapped up our visits at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, meeting with Gallery Director Rebecca McDuff where Marc will deliver an Artist Talk and have a display in the Gallery Shop during his residency. Stay tuned for more information on how to engage with this opportunity.
