17.01.2022 English for interviews ... a tip for you if English is not your mother tongue. In different situations, you use different language: different words and phrases, appropriate to who you are talking to and where. An interview is a very specific situation and it has its own 'language'. You need to make sure you are good at this language. That takes practice and knowledge, and if English is not your first language, it is harder. ... So, do some research: find 5 adverts for jobs you are interested in and find all the descriptive words and phrases they use about the people they are looking for. Write them out, translate them, learn them off by heart and think of how you might use them to describe yourself. For example: "We are looking for someone that is able to integrate into our current team. A very hard worker with a calm demeanor." Do you have a calm demeanor?
