21.01.2022 *** BATTERY DRAIN BUG *** Apple Music is draining batteries in a new bug discovered in iOS 13.5.1. You can check your own phone in Settings > Battery and then seeing whether the Music app shows a significant percentage of battery usage. If youre on iOS 13.5.1 (Settings > General > About)... What can you do? 1) Delete it if you dont use it 2) Uninstall it and re-install it to see if it alleviates the problem. Let us know if this is affecting you...

07.01.2022 *** MAJOR ALERT *** Apple have released iOS 13.5 and we are getting inundated with failed updates and data is NOT recoverable. We constantly plead with our customers to backup their devices and have to watch their face when we explain that all is lost.... Please dont ignore this, set up your backup correctly and you will never lose it ever again. Now, we at The iPhone Guy think that iCloud is a pathetic money grab and is a terrible backup option for many reasons. Firstly, it offers very minimal space unless you pay (which most dont do). Secondly, most people dont know how to use it or get their data back after a loss. For these reasons, we HIGHLY recommend using Googles cloud service. How To: 1) Sign up for a Gmail account if you do not already have one. 2) Install Google Photos on you iPhone and/or iPad and sign in. 3) In settings of Google Photos set up the backup option for Free UNLIMITED storage. Your photos will backup every night and never be lost. 4) In accounts settings of your iPhone, add your google account and enable contacts sync. This will backup all your contacts safely at all times. In the event of a total loss of your device data, simply follow the above steps again to reload all your info :) The added advantage of Google Photos is you do not need to keep the photos on the device, they pull them from the cloud as you need them and they are searchable. Share this with your friends and family to make sure everyone is safe. Nobody wants to lose their kids first day at school pics :(
