Throughout the years these wonderful people have suffered at the hands of colonialism and it makes me sad. As a descendant of indentured labourers, who were almost slaves in every way except name, I want to do my part to help the these people have the respect, justice and rights that they deserve. Also this painting was inspired by scifi/fantasy vibes with neon, geometric patterns that I imagine would glow with some sort of ancient magic. The paper lends itself well to the interesting textures in her hair.
