This win puts Jukila on the Jericho Cup qualifying points ...table with an entry of 3 points. Congratulations also to connections of 2nd place, Ascot Red (now on points table with 2 points) & 4th place, Wazuzu (now on points table with 1 point), as per Jericho Cup qualifying rules the first 3 Australasian bred horses over the line earning 2 and 1 point respectively. The next GS race will be in New Zealand at New Plymouth on September 26. https://www.thejerichocup.com.au/events We are still unsure on crowd attendance for this year's Jericho Cup, it is day by day with the current situation especially in Victoria with stage 4 lockdown underway, but we are remaining hopeful and positive, we will keep you all informed on any updates and providing all goes well and The Jericho Cup 2020 is run with crowd attendance, can you imagine what a celebration it will be!! 22.01.2022 A lookback on the 2019 Jericho Cup on Racing.com including a interview with it's founder Bill Gibbins. We are so proud that together with the hard work of Warrnambool Racing Club, that after only 2 years of the running of The Jericho Cup it is already considered a tradition, it is so much more than just a horse race and we believe this is what connects it to so many people. Run every year on the 4th Sunday after The Melbourne Cup, this year it will be run on Sunday 29th Novem...ber. https://www.racing.com//the-jericho-cup-has-already-become

22.01.2022 Earlier this year we wrote and showed footage of The Jericho Cup being mentioned by Giles Thompson (CEO of Racing Victoria) in a presentation he made on Innovative Race Concepts in Australia at the 38th Asian Racing Conference 2020. We at The Jericho Cup are absolutely thrilled that we received this mention and were credited for being a innovation in the current racing world, especially given that we are only 2yrs old (nearly 3!). More great news to come from the conference that we did not mention at the time was that Melbourne will be hosting the 2022 Asian Racing Conference!!!

04.01.2022 Morning everyone, for those who did not know the news of our first Guaranteed Start / Double Points race in Wagga Wagga on Sunday, it was unfortunately abandoned. Racing New South Wales chose to scrap the event after just 7 nominations and 4 acceptors. The effects of Covid-19 restrictions resulting in no Victorian horses being nominated certainly was the major contributing factor, but it was still a very disappointing result. A lot of work was put into the race and the even...ts for the day, we look forward to it coming back bigger and better next year! We look forward to the next GS/DP race on our calendar being in New Zealand at New Plymouth Racecourse on September 26. All GS / DP races along with our regular qualifying races can be viewed on our website https://www.thejerichocup.com.au/ we will also announce them on our Facebook page in the days leading up to it. Take care everyone and stay safe and well.

We will post soon with a full update on this race. In regards to Jericho Cup day on Sunday November 29 (4th Sunday after The Melbourne Cup ) , there is a slight glimmer of hope for minimal crowd participation this year, we should know more on the 23rd November and will keep everyone updated, the good news is of course that despite everything the race day will still happen! There will still be opportunities for other forms of crowd involvement online so keep an eye out on Warrnambool Racing Club website and Facebook page for all updates. 02.01.2022 We are sending our thoughts and best wishes for a quick recovery to trainer Neil O'Dowd over in New Zealand LOVERACING.NZ who recently had a bad fall from a horse. Neil was the trainer of Aigne in last year's Jericho Cup, who made the trip over after winning after winning the NZB Airfreight Road To The Jericho at New Plymouth in September 2019. Neil made the call earlier this year to send Aigne to fellow NZ trainer Kevin Myer and both he and Neil are hoping to see Aigne back... again to contest this year's Jericho Cup, we would love to see this happen and will be following Aigne's journey. Aigne's next race will next contest the Bonny Glen Landfill Midwest Disposals 1550 at Awapuni on Saturday, we wish him and all connections the best of luck!
