20.01.2022 One of my protocols is to treat fascia using my fascia release tools. (you know the stainless steel "scraping" tools - yep those ones). This technique is known as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation. Often I'm asked "what exactly is fascia", well sometimes pictures are easier to explain than words.....so check these out. Fascia is connective tissue joining the kinetic system of the body, and is now referred to as an organ of the body! (so fascinating). Trauma, injury, tension, poor joint biomechanics and dehydration can cause fascia to "knot" causing pain, reduced range of motion, of less mobility/function of muscles and joints. 03.01.2022 Shoulder Stretch for Glenohumeral internal rotation tension Begin sitting or standing with good posture. Place the affected arm behind your back and reach towards your opposite hip. Using the unaffected arm, gently pull the wrist of your affected arm further toward your opposite hip. A stretch should be felt in the affected shoulder. Pull gently to the point of tightness ten times. Each pull should be slow and stopped if you feel a sharp pain. This stretch should be performed for ten repetitions, once per hour or as directed.
