24.01.2022 Remembrance Day - Lest We Forget

23.01.2022 Dear all, the Committee of Management met on July 2nd and in accordance with the State Government's Stage 3 Easing of Restrictions have approved the resumption of 95% of the centre's activities. The COM has decided to delay the return of Playgroup, large community events and private function hire for now - this will be reviewed prior to the start of term 4 (Oct, 2020).... We have asked that all Group Facilitators do a Covid-safe plan (https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/rec/create-a-covid-safe-plan); and all Group Facilitators, centre staff and volunteers do the free Covid Infection Control 15 minute online training (https://www.health.gov.au//covid-19-infection-control-trai) prior to our resuming activities at the start of term 3 (week beginning July 20th). Please note: EVERYONE using the centre will be required to use sanitiser, practice social distancing and complete the Covid Contact Tracing form/sign in sheet in the front foyer upon entry. For the safety of all, everyone MUST comply with the Government's Covid health guidelines whilst engaging in the centre or you will be asked to leave. Please feel free to contact either Kay or Sophia should you have any concerns. We look forward to seeing you soon!!!

22.01.2022 SEWING TUTOR - voluntary position We are looking for someone to run our Sewing For A Cause classes on Thursdays from 10am-12pm during school term. The voluntary position would require someone who can do dressmaking - to teach the students from scratch, how to make simple items of clothing. The students will then have the skills to make one for themselves and another for the centre to donate to families in need in the APY Lands. ... The tutor would need to demonstrate: * sound dressmaking skills * the ability to work with women with varying levels of English proficiency * the ability to work with women who may need extra support to learn the skills being taught All fabric, haberdashery, sewing machines and overlockers are provided by the centre. Please call Sophia on 8341-1334 to apply, thanks.

21.01.2022 APOLOGY TO THE ADELAIDE ARCHERY CLUB The comment 'most of the arrows ended up over the fence' in my previous post was intended as a joke purely to reflect our being beginners at the sport. Not one arrow went over the fence - all were retrieved from the grounds of the club. Safety was an absolute priority - something that the sport, club and staff pride themselves on. ... The staff and coaches were highly professional and gave us strict instructions to which we had to comply leading to a safe and successful session. Apologies once again. Kind regards, Sophia.

21.01.2022 Its so nice to arrive in the morning to find peoples kind donations for the centre to pass on to locals in need. Bless you for your kindness & thoughtfulness.

14.01.2022 So, I just finished my first 'Walk A Mile' which I decided to do after seeing so many more people homeless or suffering much greater hardship in and around the Port during the peak of the Covid period. I extended my weekly hike and did 11kms in 2hrs. I met my fundraising goal ($250) but if you can donate more to help people that are homeless - it'd be great! Thank you so much. https://www.walkamile.org.au//sophia/walk-a-mile-challenge
