23.01.2022 MINDFUL MONDAY 'Third Eye Focus' meditation is a beauty-full practice to calm the mind & body. Find a special garden stone or a crystal to place on the child's third-eye, between their eyebrows. Invite them to close their eyes & meditate on the colour & shape - how does it feel?... Encourage them to breathe deeply as they lie still. After about 1-2 mins, remove the stone gently (without letting them know.) After a few moments invite them to sit up without letting the treasure fall & see if they still feel it energetically or leave them to drift off into dreamland This can be done to a soothing piece of music. 08.01.2022 Mental HEALTH, anyone? Just yesterday, our CEO, Beth was meant to spend a Health and Wellness day at a public primary school, teaching yoga and breathing and mindfulness to every student and every staff member. But alas, it was cancelled. The Dept of Ed issued a statement, in the interests of Covid safety, that all non-essential activities at our schools cease immediately. Non-essential? We'd like to put forward that its more essential right now - than algebra or ABC - t...hat our kids learn about the magic of their breath and how it can help them feel better less anxious, less worried, less angry, less sad. Its more essential that they have tools to express their feelings and to regulate big emotions. They are surrounded by adult stress and worry 24/7 at home, at school and everywhere around them. And please dont get us wrong. We're not refuting the challenges of Covid or the scary health implications. What we are questioning is the possible over regulation and lack of balance in the name of staying healthy.
