25.01.2022 Remember The Time Series #1 Who remembers the Betamax cassette tape? I dug this out of my collection to reminisce the first time I had witnessed a Michael Jackson concert on TV as a kid. ... The Dangerous Tour Live in Bucharest aired on Australian Television in the early 90s. The concert was from 1992 but I am unsure when it was actually aired - Does anyone remember and can help me out with this? Im thinking I was around 3 to 5 years old when I saw it for the first time with my older brothers in our lounge room. We were in a trance watching Michael perform his concert! The screaming fans, people fainting - being carried out before he even flinched! I vividly remember watching this cassette many, many times and always excited for the Moonwalk in Billie Jean and the whole Thriller routine with the zombies and skeletons making an appearance. He was SO COOL and the epitome of megastar status! A beautiful memory and something I will hold onto forever. Thanks to Mum and Dad for taping over the movie, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane and replacing it with perhaps one of the best concerts in history. Zooming in, I can just make out the scrubbed out writing on the cassette . 23.01.2022 Hey MJ fam, its no secret that The King of Pop Show has taken a well deserved break after our tour last June commemorating 10 years without Michael. I am still around doing shows, just on a smaller scale for the time being. In fact I just had a private booking this past weekend which went down really well. The continued support from the MJ fan community is always present and much appreciated. Id like to share with you all what Ive been working on behind the scenes for qu...ite some time now. For those of you who dont know, I am also a drummer and have been playing drums on and off for almost 20 years. Ive had the itch to get back into playing with live bands and I feel now is my time to do so. 4 years ago I came up with the idea of creating an authentic, one of a kind tribute band called Yacht Rock Revival, playing all the smoothest soft rock hits from the mid 1970s to the early 1980s. The concept has morphed over the years and now in its final form, I can say I am very proud and excited for this band to finally take off. I would absolutely love it if you could head on over to the Yacht Rock Revival page and give us a Like so we can build our page and get the word out there. That would be greatly appreciated. Yes, this is a very different look to my MJ appearance, but hey... Im diggin having facial hair! Would love to see some familiar faces at a gig soon! 16.01.2022 Remember The Time Series #2 HIStory - Past, Present and Future Book 1 was my first introduction to a Michael Jackson album back in 1995. It was his first official greatest hits compilation which also included fifteen new songs. My household had the cassette version and it was only the greatest hits side. My parents borrowed the original cassette at one point and recorded it onto a blank for our own home enjoyment. This was common practice in the 90s - recording and transf...erring of tapes. Michaels music sounded like nothing else out there. It still doesnt! The affect that his music has on people of all ages is one of the most beautiful things I have yet to witness. I see it and its evident in my shows all the time! 5 - 10 year olds singing and dancing, knowing every word and every move. I was one of these kids.. There is just something about Michaels music and what it does to people. The word I like to describe it - Magical. After years of searching for the HIStory album on vinyl, as of last week, I now finally own it! Still factory sealed from 1995 with its original price tag - extremely rare to find in this condition.
