22.01.2022 In an amazing display of community mindedness, a Committee Member at 166 Gertrude Street in Fitzroy has established the People of Gertrude Street initiative "to bring people and businesses together and re-energise the street and the community" after lockdown. Championed by Peter "PK" Kaylor, the initiative was recently awarded a grant from the local council to turn the photographs of locals - taken on provided disposable film cameras - into street posters, decals and building... wraps. The George & Gertrude Street corner of 166 Gertrude will be home to one such display, with other buildings and traders getting on board to turn the street into a collaborative community art piece. The campaign launches from the 3rd of December.
