24.01.2022 Dear friends and customers, I have been having all sorts of problems with Facebook, and many of your messages have not been getting through. If youve sent me a message and I havent responded, please forgive me! With the help of a crack technical team (three children home from university) we are trying to resolve these problems. 10.01.2022 Stop press! Lorraine is going to look after the shop for the next few days whilst I'm away, so the Known World will be open tomorrow (Friday), Saturday and Sunday as usual, from 11am until 4pm.

07.01.2022 The Known World is back! Come and visit our beautiful bookshop at 28 Main Rd, Bakery Hill (Ballarat). Weve spent months creating this space, and Im so proud of the collection of books weve assembled. Books are back! Turn away from those screens and bury yourself in a good book!

06.01.2022 A young woman named Ellen called into my new shop several days ago with a large bunch of beautiful flowers. "I used to visit your old shop in Sturt Street", she told me. "I found solace there. Thank you". She handed me the flowers, and turned and walked out the door. Over the last week, I have had so many people tell me how pleased they are that Ive opened this new shop, but that gesture totally floored me. To all of you who have greeted this great leap of faith with such generosity of spirit - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
