22.01.2022 Volunteers thanked Last week the staff and students of Condobolin Public School had the opportunity to officially acknowledge the wonderful contribution volunteers make to their school. Volunteers include friends, family and community members who support the school by donating their time and energy to help with academic, sporting, cultural and social events across the school. A special assembly was held and student representatives from Kindergarten to Year six read out a few ...quotes and thank you messages from the students and the school. The school dance and choir groups provided entertainment throughout the assembly. Teacher Michelle Horvat addresssed the assembly and told of her pleasure to be involved in thanking the volunteers. At Condobolin Public School, we are very fortunate to be wrapped in the arms of a wonderful, supportive wider community. We have chosen to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank those members of our school community that have volunteered their time and energy to come and help our students and staff throughout this year. There are many ways that individuals, families and community members have dedicated themselves to supporting us throughout this year. From helping out with sports carnivals and sporting events, working in the canteen or Breakfast Club, helping out with gardening and cleaning, volunteering to be part of committees and helping with the preparation of resources, to name just a few things. On behalf of the staff, I’d like to express our sincere thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to support the learning, growth, and happiness of our students, Michelle Horvat said. Volunteers were then welcomed into the staffroom to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea provided by the satff. See more

04.01.2022 South African Tour Local Condobolin High School student Toby Denyer is looking forward to an experience of a lifetime when he tours South Africa in April next year. Toby is a Year 10 student and he has been selected to represent New South Wales in the Combined High Schools Open Rugby Union Development Team which will be touring with the All Schools South Africa Tournament to be held in Johannesburg. His journey to selection in the squad began after being nominated by Condobol...in High School to attend a selection trial in Orange. He then went on to play at carnivals around the state where selectors chose him to attend the regional trial and from this event he was asked to trial for the New South Wales team in Sydney. Toby is the only student selected in the team from country New South Wales and the team is predominately made up of students who either attend a Sports High School or are part of a development squad for the Wallabies or the Waratahs in Sydney or Newcastle. Toby said that last year he decided to have a crack at something different after playing rugby league for many years. Condobolin doesn’t have a junior rugby union team in a regular competition so I had to travel to play union and I quickly found that I love the game. I play in the centres and ended up playing union for the Central West team and the Country team last year. I am very proud to have been selected in the Combined High School Open Rugby Union team and I attend training every four weeks in either Newcastle or Sydney. The tour of South Africa in April next year will be for 14 days and I will be billeted out with different families for some of this time to experience living in South Africa, Toby Denyer said. Teacher at Condobolin High School, Matt Heffernan, said that to be selected in this team is a great achievement and the school is very proud of Toby. It has been a very long time since the school has had a representative at this level and the whole school community are very excited for Toby and his family, Matt Heffernan said. To help get Toby to South Africa, Combined High School raffle tickets are being sold and some amazing prizes are up for grabs. The Condobolin Rugby Union Club have also made a donation to Toby towards his trip and a spokesman for the club has said that if any other person, organisation or business would like to assist or sponsor this young footballer, please contact his mother Lee-Anne Denyer at Ochre Health, Melrose Street Condobolin.
