22.01.2022 How To Pitch Over The Bunker Consistently - Part 1 You know that pitch shot I talked to you about, on how to take the wrists out of it so that you can get the ball to pop up into the air with less margin for error. Do you remember me talking to you about that one?... Well, if you do, exciting stuff, we are going to work on that so it helps us over one of those things, yes, the bunker. You know the simple pitch shot that I showed you how to do without flipping your hands around, nice and simple, straight back and straight thru, well, the question then becomes, what else can we use it for? Well, why not use it to hit over the bunker? What’s more terrifying than hitting the ball over the bunker? Probably hitting the ball over the water, right? What we want to do here is to make sure we are using the same technique, which I will go through again, and then we’ll work on hitting it over the bunker. Today, I’ll actually show you how to do it from this way, over, and then when you see the next one, you’ll see it from the back so that you can actually see what goes on, hitting the balls over those nice big bunkers. So, we’ll focus on getting the ball up and over the bunker. How are we going to do that without freaking out? Well, if you saw the previous tip where I talk about no hinging the hands around, or the wrists or anything like that, we just worked on a straight back, straight through movement, you can actually get the ball over the bunker quite consistently. But again, you have to go out and practice these things. It’s most important that even though I show you what to do in these videos, you just have to get out there and do the practice to make sure the pieces are doing the right thing. Now, we are going to go long back, long through, you have seen that before, no moving the hands around or anything like that. So, let’s do a set up. Long back and long through and you can see that the ball popped up really nicely off the clubface. Did I flick my hands around? No, I did not. Let’s do another one, long back and long through. Funny that, it did the same thing. There is something in that for you isn’t there? That was a really simple tip for you wasn’t it? An easy way to get the balls over the bunker way more consistently. Hope you enjoyed today’s tip. Love it if you could leave a comment and always remember this, Tee it High and Let it Fly. 18.01.2022 Have you ever wanted to have something simple so that you can hit the ball up in the air and do it consistently? That’s what I’m going to show you how to do today. I love giving you simple things to work on because that’s where the magic is in your golf. Keeping it simple. Hitting a pitch shot is actually more simple than you think, especially getting it up in the air. A lot of people try to help the ball when they are hitting a pitch shot, they flick up and try and lift the ...ball up with the club and what happens with that is you can’t go through the ball. What happened with the club and the ball is that when you go to make contact the club has to keep going through. What happened is that the club doesn’t actually hit the ball itself, it hits the grass just before. The ball climbs up onto the clubface as the club slides through the grass and lifts into the air. What happens when you try to lift the club up is the bottom part of the club (called the leading edge) can’t come up into the air because you are going over the top of the ball. That’s what we want to do when we pitch, actually that’s what we want to do with everything, hit the grass just before the ball. I would like you to practice the swoosh swing. The swoosh swing is really about hearing the swoosh of the grass when we pitch a ball. That’s what we want to do every time we hit a ball. We want to hear that lovely swoosh on the grass. Now, our goal here is to hit the grass just before the ball, I always say you want to give the grass a little bit of a haircut, just a trim. Let’s do a practice swoosh swing, you can hear that swoosh, now we are going to do it with the ball. As you can see when I hit the ball it automatically lifts up. We want to make sure we are getting the feeling of long back and long through not up, down and up. That’s all you need to do. Hope you enjoyed today’s tip. Love it if you could leave a comment and always remember this, Tee it High and Let it Fly. 17.01.2022 Good morning Iluka

16.01.2022 Are you struggling to hit that ball over the lovely bunker behind me? Are you saying, Yes, Tiff, absolutely struggling, I’m really not sure how to do it? Don’t go anywhere, I’m going to show you a very simple way to get it over that bunker. Today I am going to show you, like I promised, what happens from the back view so that you can... actually see the ball come through, up over the bunker, see what a kind of height starts to come off the clubface and all that sort of stuff as well just to have a look at what my body is doing so that you can go out there and practice that as well. That’s what we are going to focus on right now. Do you remember me talking to you about that long back long through action. You know, we talked about taking the wrists out of play. Well, we are still going to apply that today, you have seen a few previous videos on how to take the wrists out, so that’s what we are going to do here. We are going to see it from the back view so that you can actually see where I am taking the club back to, what I am doing coming through, you can see what my body is doing as well and you can see the ball go up over that lovely bunker, isn’t it cool, a nice big high lip, really wide and we have to make sure we get this ball over it. Very simple, we get set, we go long back and long through and that is pretty much it. We have to make sure we hit the grass just before the ball. Here we go, testing it out, Long back, long through and hold. What did you see the ball do? All it did was to pop up and off it went. All you saw me do is to go long back and long through and opened my body up, just making sure to work on our bellybutton or out chest, torso, tummy, whatever you want to be thinking about, belt buckle, we want to make sure that everything is facing to where the ball went. I’ll do one more shot for you, long back, long through, hold. We want to make sure we are focusing on getting that action right, because that is going to help get the ball over the bunker. That was a lot of fun, wasn’t it? Getting the ball over the bunker and seeing how to do it. Hope you enjoyed today’s tip. Love it if you could leave a comment and always remember this, Tee it High and Let it Fly. 14.01.2022 Good morning Nambucca

14.01.2022 Tiff, The Lady Golf Teacher here. What I’m going to do today is to show you a way in which you can make your chip shot consistent. You are going to love what I am going to show you so don’t go anywhere and I’ll show you very shortly. What I’m going to show is a really good drill that will help you be so consistent with your chip shots, it’s going to not only help you with your chip shots, it’s going to help with your pitch shots and also with your full swing. Are you ready to... know what we’ve got to do? I’m sure you are saying "yes, Tiff I can’t wait to have this happen." This is going to be so simple you will say "WOW" that’s so basic it can’t be that easy. But it’s not actually that hard at all, we are just going to do something really simple. So, if you are a right handed, we will be focusing on your left arm, if you are a left handed golfer I want you to do this with your right arm. We are actually going to hit some shots with our left arm, remember, right-handed golfers use the left arm, left handed golfers use your right arm. What I want you to do is to work on swinging back and through, just like a pendulum, I call it "tic- toc", tic-toc back and through and working on keeping the left arm nice and straight to play the shot. The reason we are going to do that is to understand how still the left arm has to be, hands are not moving around, making sure the wrist stays nice and straight through the ball. I find the most effective chip shots you have is when you don’t move your hands around. If you move your hands around the golf club moves around as well. Se the ball up in line with the centre of the chest, set the club in behind the ball, push the hand forward a little so it’s more in line with the outside of your left hip, and swing back and through. We are not trying to get the ball to go anywhere, all we are working on is keeping the arm nice and straight, back and through the ball. I’ll do it again for you so you can see, straight back, straight through, hold, nice and straight, notice there is no flicking around. You want to see one more, why not, straight back, straight through. Something really simple, if you start work on getting that right, keeping your left arm nice and straight, straight back and straight through, an exciting thing starts to happen, you actually hit your chip shots better because you have that lovely straight arm through the ball. I want you to go and practice that. Hope you enjoyed today’s tip. Love it if you could leave a comment and always remember this, Tee it High and Let it Fly. 06.01.2022 Hey there, Tiff, The Lady Golf Teacher, long time no see. I haven’t recorded a video for quite some time, but we’re back in action. Today we are going to be looking at a way in which you can get more consistent with your chip shots. Don’t go anywhere, this is going to be absolutely essential that you watch this video.... Well, welcome to today’s tip, what we are going to be working on is a way in which you can get more consistency with your chip shot. What I see a lot of when people come to have lessons with me is a lot of flicking around when they are actually doing a chip shot. That’s a big problem, it is what causes the inconsistency. We feel that we have lift the ball up in some way to try to get the ball down to the hole. We don’t have to do that at all. What I’m going to show you is something that you want to make sure you are practicing for the rest of your golf. However long you play golf, you want to be practicing this one. So, something very, very simple that I want you to be thinking about, if you are a right-handed golfer this will refer to your left arm. If you are a left-handed golfer this will refer to your right arm. What I want you to be thinking about when you play your shot is to make sure you are keeping the left arm nice and straight through the chip shot. Because if we keep the left arm nice and straight through the chip shot, then we keep the club face nice and straight through the chip shot which then means the ball goes where we want it to go. That sounds pretty simple doesn’t it? Yes right, you can do that. What I want you to be focusing on is that when you come to do a chip shot, especially when you are practicing it, is to work on keeping your left arm nice and straight through the ball. It’s just something as simple as that. So when you set up, I don’t want you to be aiming at the hole or anything when you come and do this, just practice swinging back and through, hold, and work on keeping your left arm nice and straight. You don’t have to hit the ball away too far, just let it trickle forward because the big thing is making sure the left arm is nice and straight through the ball, so that we are starting to create some consistency. We don’t have to hit the ball very far, like I said, we are not trying to get rid of the ball, we are just working on developing that feeling of keeping the left arm nice and straight. Nice and simple, hope you enjoyed today’s tip. Love it if you could leave a comment and always remember this, Tee it Hight and Let it Fly. Look forward to seeing you real soon. Take Care. 04.01.2022 Hey there, Tiff, The Lady Golf Teacher here, would you like to become more consistent with your pitch shots? I hear you saying "yes, I would love to!" Okay, don’t go anywhere, I’m going to show you a really simple way to gain better consistency with your pitch shots with this really simple technique. Something really simple, if you are 15 metres or 20 metres from the... green and you have to get the ball up onto the green and you are really struggling with doing that. So, let’s have a look at how to gain that consistency in pitching up onto the green. A really good place to do this, in the sense of wanting some thick luscious grass to do this on. Don’t do it on really thin grass because you are not going to get the feeling right now. If you can get an opportunity to go on some this luscious grass, do that because you still need to hear the club hitting the grass and that’s how we can get the ball to go up into the air. It’s much easier to do it on a thick surface versus having something that is thin and hard to hit off. When you do the setup for your pitch shot, I want you to think of your left arm, your right arm and your shoulders like a triangle. What we want to do with the triangle is to maintain it the whole way through. Going back with the lovely triangle, we make contact and have a lovely triangle and then come through, and we still have a lovely triangle. Something really simple that helps get rid of the little flicky stuff that goes on. I’ll demonstrate what I mean and then you are going to go out and practice it! Remember, triangle back , triangle through. Having a go, triangle, triangle and you can see how I have been able to maintain the triangle back and through and hold that position at the end. One more for the road triangle, triangle. Alright, so something really simple like that, go out there and practise it. Hope you enjoyed today’s tip. Love it if you could leave a comment and always remember this, Tee it High and Let it Fly. 02.01.2022 Are you struggling to get the ball over a bunker, like this, high lip, quite wide and you have been doing everything that I have asked you to do? But it’s still not going over, it’s still rolling along the grass, rolling into the bunker and it’s not working! How can I make it work?...Continue reading
