25.01.2022 A big thank you to the manager of Cranebrook Woolworths Store, Glenda Kastler and her assistant, Tanya Lemaire, who visited our school on Thursday and presented the College with the Earn and Learn Rewards - school supplies- the result of all those fabulous stickers collected by the families in our school. Glenda also surprised us with two huge boxes of delicious bananas for the students. Thank You Glenda, Tanya and Woolies!

24.01.2022 This afternoon was The Lakes Great Jump-Off. This was a fun-filled time where the primary students had many skipping related activities outside, run by older students and students in high-school, and they even had a special treat at the end. The event was also part of The Lakes Jump Rope for Heart activities. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this event the great time it was.

24.01.2022 Coming up at The Lakes we have our commencement service on Monday the 10th to welcome the new students and teachers that have joined us this year. This will be a great time to introduce the new staff and students for 2020 into our community. We also have the 'Meet the Teacher' night coming up from 6pm-7pm on the 10th as well. This will be a time for parents to meet the teachers teaching their children for the year.

21.01.2022 At TLCC we really appreciate the parents and grandparents who regularly volunteer their time to help the teachers and students at school throughout the year. They were acknowledged and thanked at the Primary Morning Assembly last Monday. We also expressed our appreciation to the Years 5 & 6 students who come to school early each morning to assist with buddy reading and help the younger children improve their reading. Thank you to everyone who is so kind and serves our school community so well.

21.01.2022 Last Monday we introduced our newest students to their buddies during Kindergarten Orientation. We had a Teddy Bear's picnic and lots of fun.

19.01.2022 A great day was had on the Nepean Belle for TLCC staff to celebrate the end of 2019 school year & farewell several staff including Mr & Mrs Bell who retire after 45yrs of teaching. All staff surprised Mr Bell by wearing 'Kindness Matters' T-shirts - his theme for the year.

17.01.2022 We had a fabulous Christmas Chapel and farewell to Mr and Mrs Bell this week. The children did a superb job as did their teachers with the preparation. Mr & Mrs Bell were touched by the kind words that were shared with them both during the Chapel and afterwards.

15.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day from The Lakes Christian College. A very big thankyou to the volunteers who worked on the Fathers Day Stall on Thursday.

11.01.2022 The Lakes Christian College celebrated Book Week with ‘Curious creatures and Wild Minds’ on 20th October. Students and Staff had a fabulous time dressing up and participating in activities. Thank you to the Library Staff and Year 6 for a great day celebrating literature.

09.01.2022 The year 9-10 Physical Activity and Sport Studies class had an outdoor adventure at Yarramundi Reserve on Monday. We split the class and each group had two hours of hiking and kayaking. The students learned kayaking skills and paddled two kilometres upstream to the YMCA area. We are blessed to have 10 kayaks and look forward to increasing the number next year. While half the class paddled, the other half hiked the isthmus between the Nepean and Hawkesbury Rivers.

07.01.2022 Students from Years 5 & 6 enjoyed a great day at the NSW Junior Chess League One Day Tournament at Bligh Park Public School. They played seven rounds against a number of schools in the Hawkesbury District. There was some tough competition. Our students participated enthusiastically and were wonderful representatives of our College.

07.01.2022 Year 6 had a wonderful time at Luna Park on Monday. The Year 6 fundraising for Term 4 was selling ice creams and ice blocks to help this happen. Thank you to everyone that bought ice creams. We raised enough money to cover the cost of this trip as part of celebrating the end of Primary school and donate over $400 to the farmers to help them during the drought.

02.01.2022 Wanted: Bus Drivers The Lakes Christian College ... is looking for part-time and casual bus drivers to assist with student bus runs. If you have a current LR Licence, or are willing to be upskilled to obtain one, we would like to hear from you! Great job for retirees or casual workers! We require drivers to be available for school pick-up runs of approximately two-hour duration in the morning and/or afternoon on school days. We are looking for part-time drivers and also casual drivers who can make themselves available when our regular drivers are busy or on leave. Our fleet consists of Mitsubishi Rosa and Toyota Coaster small buses. We would require our drivers to provide a Working With Children check number and would require a reference from a pastor or minister. The Lakes Christian College is located at 206 East Wilchard Road Castlereagh. Please ring 4777 4057 or email [email protected] to arrange an interview with the Principal.

01.01.2022 The Primary School Leaders for 2020 were announced and presented with their badges at a special assembly on Thursday. It was so special to have their parents attend and pin their badges on them. The Primary Captains for 2020 are Zac Eldering and Mahli Fowler. The Vice Captains are TImothy Baldwin and Elenore Drake. Jayden Hooper and Aquilla Raad are the prefects. Congratulations to these students. The Primary House Prefects were also announced and presented with their badges.
