24.01.2022 Would you like a stall at our community Markets - send us a message and we'll be in contact with you
22.01.2022 Afternoon all - The markets are on this Saturday. We have several new stalls joining us and of course our favorites will be back. The Variable Messaging Sign went up today and the permanent signs were delivered and will go up tomorrow. A quick note to stall holders: Given the weather forecast at the moment we will assume the markets are on. If we need to cancel because of rain I'll make that call on Friday morning and post here and let you all know by text as well.
21.01.2022 Morning all, We have had some wonderful folks join us at the markets and some of our regulars include a couple ladies that are "Exploring the meaning of creativity in styled variety. Offering custom and personalised gifts. Vinyl decals." I can attest, they are very creative. So if you're looking to support an "Australian artist creating unique functional resin art pieces perfect for gifts and styling your home." come and check out their stall. You will not be disappointed I... promise you that! Check out their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/a.little.creativity/ https://www.facebook.com/the.creativeboutiqueAU In that stall is also

16.01.2022 Good afternoon all, this is Big Trev Ruthenberg, the volunteer market manager. Sometimes "Thank you" doesn't seen to be enough. There is actually a fair bit of expense and logistics involved to organise something like "The Lakes Community Markets". A few weeks ago I contacted an old mate of mine and asked for help and without even thinking twice Packer Leather donated the funds we needed to purchase the outstanding items we will need to run the markets. Packer Leather is a local company based in Narangba and are VERY community focused and we appreciate very much their help and commitment to our community. Take a look at their web site (https://packerleather.com) to see their history and the products they provide. THANK YOU PACKER LEATHER!

You can contact Alex by: Phone; +61 (0) 419545474 Email; [email protected] Web; www.SpotOnVMShire.com.au... Here is what folks will see as they come into Kallangur from North Lakes on Anzac Av this coming week.
13.01.2022 Afternoon all, very exciting and getting closer. We had a local artist join is as a stall holder yesterday for the Dec 5 and 19 market days so come on down on Saturday and take a look at the talent in our community. Talking about talent, Dan McKenzie who owns CLEARSTREAM Broadband has done all our bobcat work pro bono. This morning he moved the gravel around on the non grassed area to make that part of the markets much better for us to use. A huge THANK YOU to Dan. If you re a developer you need to give Dan a call so the people who build houses can have the best broadband available in your subdivision. Check him out at www.clearstream.com.au or call him on 0407 622 557.
12.01.2022 A huge THANK YOU to Cr Jodie Shipway from the MBRC, Jodie is the new Councilor for Div 4. We spoke to Jodie about our plans to run markets with our aims to help people in our community and she has been a huge help. We truly appreciate her help and commitment to our community. Jodie has help us arrange a few things through council. We applied for a discretionary grant and from Jodie to help us off set the cost of setting up the markets and running. We received $3,000 for that purpose. Thank you Jodie, your help has been very welcome and much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you on Dec 5.
11.01.2022 Morning all, one of our tasks in preparing to run The Lakes Community Markets is to make sure the grass and gravel surface areas are safe for the volunteers, stall holders and general public to walk on. This morning we had the top soil for the grassed area and the gravel for the rest of the area delivered ready for tomorrows working-bee. A BIG thank to Landscape City who have helped us tremendously. Thanks Nick.
09.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE! Good afternoon all. Unfortunately due to the rain and considering the updated weather forecast this afternoon we have made the decision to CANCEL The Lakes Community Markets in Mango Hill for this Saturday, Feb 20. To all our stall holders, I am sorry. The weather forecast right now has a 60% chance of rain tomorrow and 70% on Saturday. Give the rain we've already had, the rain that is forecast and the time of year, we think it is wise to cancel the m...arkets for this Saturday. THE GOOD NEWS is, our next markets are scheduled for March 6 and 20. I'll be in touch with our stall holders about March 6 next week. Big Trev Ruthenberg (Volunteer) Market Manager

06.01.2022 Get excited folks, first markets planned - UPDATE - Dec 5th. Our parish helps folks in our community. For example we have a food pantry, we've employed a youth coordinator who is organising a community youth group with the first one on Nov 27... we offer a program for 5 and under and their carers on Friday morning (Music Box), Dan our Priest is the local Police Chappie, we do a Christmas day BBQ for those who can't afford Christmas (that is in planning now for this year) and now we will run weekly markets to help folks in our community who want to earn a little extra, plus it will be our way of helping to build community spirit. We'll use the markets to help us fund and expand these services. Ultimately, if the Markets build the way we hope then we want to use them to start to provide some services for the homeless. Stay tuned.

04.01.2022 It is with great excitement I can share that The Lakes Community Markets have received Council approval! (Lots of cheers and whistling). Unfortunately due to other circumstances beyond our control The Lakes Community Markets have had to change their plans in regard to what date the markets will run this year. The good news is The Lakes Community Markets will hold their first market day on Dec 5 and a second market day on Dec 19. We will not be able to run markets on... Nov 28 and Dec 12 as originally planned. We will be back in late January and are planning on Jan 30 as our first market day in 2021. We apologies if these changes negatively impact anyone but unfortunately we only became aware of these certain circumstances yesterday and we have worked very hard since then to ensure we can run a successful and safe markets on Dec 5 and 19. I can confirm that we still plan to run the markets from 7am to 11:30am on Dec 5 and 19. Sincerely, Big Trev Ruthenberg Volunteer Market Manager

04.01.2022 Hi everyone, just letting you know that we put up another Variable Messaging Board this morning to advertise the Markets. It is on the land right where the markets will be. The word is getting out but keep sharing it folks. Very exciting, its the hottest thing out there this weekend!!!!!
02.01.2022 Folks meet our fabulous Kerrie. So what will you find at Kerrie's stall when you visit? Kerrie? "I paint, I pour, I glitter. And now, I sell. All handmade painted goods, all one of a kind." Dead set I am amazed with what Kerri does. My wife bought 3 sets of earrings from Kerry last market day, all unique and all amazing colour and exactness. Kerrie does necklaces, wall art, countertop art and a host of very creative things. Come visit her and ask to see her $5,000 wall art piece, it's truly spectacular. https://www.facebook.com/kerrieskanvas/?tsid=0.04516064954733179&source=results
