23.01.2022 Have you recently started exercising again? Are all your previous aches and niggles starting to resurface? With the slowly easing COVID19 restrictions, we’re all finally able to engage in some exercise; and while that’s great, if you do too much too soon, you can be at risk for overuse injuries. We need to better prepare the body. Overuse injuries are sustained from repetitive overload i.e doing too much too soon. This is in contrast to acute injuries which occur one sudden i...nstance or event. Overuse injuries can include tendinopathies and stress reactions or stress fractures. To learn more about overuse injuries and how to prevent them; call us today or see us at the clinic. #injuryprevention #physiotherapy #exercise #overuseinjury #springfield #springfieldphysio #rehabilitation #brisbanephysio #injury

14.01.2022 Exercise bikes are a great piece of equipment for overall health and also a staple rehab tool used in physiotherapy. It's a fantastic way for patients to recover with leg-related therapies, as well as build stamina and condition strength throughout their legs! A good tip if you're on the hunt for an exercise bike is to see how they generate their resistance: If it's from some sort of friction, like a belt, it'll most likely wear out over time. Great durable bikes are often built with magnets and fluid resistance generators, so keep this in mind when you're looking for one!

01.01.2022 Let's debunk some common myths around the physio world: I need a doctor's referral to see a physio Nope. You can just walk-in. Although we might get a clearer picture from a referral, you can always just pop by clinic or making a booking... The type of mattress you sleep on prevents back pain Nope. Or at least, no high-quality clinical research has properly identified the perfect mattress that will prevent back pain. Surgery is the only option Nope. From treating degenerative disc diseases, rotator cuff tears to various types of knee osteoarthritis, physiotherapy has shown to be just as effective as surgery Get them all right? We might have to step-up our game for next time to keep you on your toes!
