An anti-virus is a program that is constantly scanning your computer in in the back ground and searching for digital signatures that correspond with ones that may be in it’s dictionary of known virus signatures. Thus allowing for it to know if your computer has a virus by cross referencing with everything on your computer. ... Anti-Malware is a program that searches the computer on a periodic basis, say once a week, and searches for behaviour or symptoms of infection rather than a specific program. The victims received an email suggesting that an explosive device has been planted in the building they are currently situated in and it can only be deactivated if the email recipient pays a significant sum of money through digital currency. What do you need to do if you receive this kind of email?... Do not make any financial payments to the email sender. Do not click the links or attachments included in the email. If you are concerned about your safety, report the matter immediately to your local police. If you have made a payment to the sender of the email, please do the following: Inform your financial institution immediately and report the incident to Australian Cyber Security Centre Report Cyber (www.cyber.gov.au/report).
