25.01.2022 Interested to know how many people/businesses on here started with one small change, aka stop using plastic straws, then moved onto other significant environmentally focused or waste focused changes? If so, what were they? And do you think taking that first step made you more likely to do more?

22.01.2022 We interrupt your scrolling to bring you this very important PSA: 8pm TOMORROW is the deadline to enrol to vote or to change your electoral details for the upcoming Federal election. It honestly takes no more than a few minutes and means that YOU can have your say on what you believe should be the priorities of the government for the next 3 years. ... If you care about the future of Australia's environment policy, this is pretty much the most important thing you can do.

21.01.2022 We're excited to launch the next phase of The Last Straw, because straws are a big deal but there is SO much more to do. Introducing: Take to the Road, a movement with the mission to make ethical and sustainable travel the new normal. We've just launched a crowdfunding campaign with the support of Tourism Holdings Limited and StartSomeGood.com, with THL contributing an initial $5000 to get us started! We just need to raise another $5000 to get this project off the ground. To find out more, check out the crowdfunding page below. Feel free to share with friends and family Thanks for your support! https://startsomegood.com/take-to-the-road

Head on over to sign up using this link to check it out!

19.01.2022 In solidarity with and support for the students taking to the streets today to fight for their futures and the future of the world. Thank you for being brave and standing up to shout where too many in power have been quiet for too long.

18.01.2022 We're over half way to our crowdfunding goal for Take to the Road already! Thanks everyone for your support. Here's a little video we put together to show you more about what we're doing. We only have $5k left to raise to get this off the ground. Head to wwww.startsomegood.com/take-to-the-road to contribute! 17.01.2022 Thank you Qantas for listening to Australia and taking leadership on this. While there is still so much to do to make travel truly responsible, this is a great first step. Hoping this will become the norm sooner than later

16.01.2022 Our good friends at Cheeki are having a sale in honour of #plasticfreejuly What are your top tips for the month? We've been planning a plastic-conscious trip overseas and trying to make time to sit in instead of taking away. Still using our keep cups of course, just slowing it down

15.01.2022 It's now officially Plastic Free July! For great resources and ideas about what you can do to reduce the presence of plastic in your life, check out the official website and sign up for the month-long challenge today!

15.01.2022 Ethan Brown of Beyond Meat talks about what it takes to change people's minds when it comes to separating the idea of meat from animals. 'When you think of meat in terms of its composition, it’s five thingsamino acids, lipids, trace minerals, vitamins and water. None of that is exclusive to animals. Animals spend massive amounts of energy consuming plants to make protein. We start directly with the plant material [pea protein] and build from that.'

12.01.2022 YAS QUEEN (Have a wonderful Mardi Gras everyone!)

11.01.2022 This is what people power looks like. Protecting the lungs of the earth for future generations. There is so much hope.

06.01.2022 Hi all, amidst the new Year celebrations, a lot of our country ahs been burning. We're trying to mobilize the incredible hospitality industry to help raise money over the month of January through 'Chip In For Our Firies'- donating a portion of sales of chips to firefighting efforts and to support fire-affected communities and wildlife. Check out the event page and give it a share! And keep an eye out for venues displaying #chipinforourfiries posters and social media posts. As Melbourne City lies engulfed in smoke today, the need to act has never been more apparent. Thanks for your support as always <3

05.01.2022 We've got to be doing more. Ideas welcome.

04.01.2022 Rottnest, one of WA's most beautiful places has just announced the whole island will become straw responsible! We were lucky enough to be talking with them through the process of designing what this move would look like. Places like Rottnest see the real world impact of disposable plastic waste. Thanks for your leadership

04.01.2022 When we started The Last Straw it was just about getting our favourite venues to stop using so much excess plastic. Now, we're seeing bars, brands and companies as champions of this revolution. Honni from Hades Hula House in Radelaide was one of the winners at the recent 42 Below sustainable cocktail competition. Bartender, I'll have one of those please

02.01.2022 We're almost at the end of our crowdfunding month, and nearly at our target! If you haven't seen yet, Take to the Road is our new initiative to support a community of ethical and sustainable travellers. Have a look at some of the great perks and help us get launched properly!

01.01.2022 This weekend we’ve got the chance to have our say in the federal election, and that’s a big deal! Make sure you use your vote wisely, if you’re unsure who to vote for, try a voting compass to see where you should place your numbers (https://votecompass.abc.net.au) and make sure you do some research on your local members! p.s how beautiful is this art by @jacquelinecolley ?! #vote #Australia #federalelection2019 #climatechange #makeyourvotecount #voteaustralia #motherearth #votefortheplanet
