12.01.2022 WHY YOUR APE INDEX MEANS MORE TO YOUR DEADLIFT THAN YOU THINK: Your noodle/t-Rex arms play such a huge role in your deadlift. I don’t have any clients that fall into the extremes (like Durant who has a porn star length ape index of 9), but even the minor deviations of 5cm/2inches will alter your deadlift. ... Ever seen someone that’s a giraffe with t-Rex arms deadlift? That shit ain’t pretty. And there’s nothing wrong with that, you just don’t force these clients to deadlift because some bro said oMg YoU haV 2 deaDLift coZ gaiiNzZz. Bullshit. On the flip, ever seen a little nugget with long arms deadlift. It’s a little bloop and they’ve all of a sudden lifted 120kg and you don’t even remember seeing them strain.
