23.01.2022 Good tips on how to treat your leather products...

17.01.2022 These leathers are Protected/Finished Leather, Finished or Protected leather: This leather has had products applied to it, so it does not feel as soft as the semi-aniline or aniline leathers. Scars may be visible but not as clearly as on the aniline leathers, making this leather easy to maintain. But, as it still is a natural product with constant contact with body oils and moisture, it is recommended to be regularly cleaned and conditioned, to keep the surface intact. Corr...ected Leather: pigmented leather that has been stamped with a grain pattern so that it looks identical on every panel. This leather is easy to maintain. Unlike aniline leather has been sealed so it does not absorb water or scratch you get protected or painted leather. You will not be able to see scars or other natural markings easily. Semi-aniline: This leather is both aniline and finished surface properties, meaning this leather will have a soft feel, like an aniline, but with a protective finish like the protected/finished leathers. Scars may be visible but not as easily as on anilines, making the leather easier to maintain. Imitation or Man-Made Leather: Other names include: Bonded leather, faux leather, microfiber leather, or vinyl are not leather, but are made to have the appearance and or feel of natural leather. This is due to it being cheaper and easier to access than the real counterpart, but not as durable. These materials also need to be cleaned on a regular basis. If you need any assistance with any problems with this leather, we can be of service to you. We can mix colour to match leather to restore the colour pigment to these types of leather.

09.01.2022 Aniline is a natural product, not many alterations to the material after it has been tanned and dyed. All leather material starts out as this. But, because it is naturally kept leather you will be able to see scars such as, barbwire, tick bites, stretch marks, etc. Like aniline, Nutbuck leather, has a fur-like feel and any moisture will darken or lighten immediately, and will stain if not dried properly. How is is identified is from how it is processed. The outer layer of th...e calfskin is used, then the leather has to be sanded from the outside of the skin. Similar to suede, but the inner layer of the calfskin are used and sanded from the inner side of the leather allowing a naturally smoother material than the Nutbuck. And moisture can damage both these surfaces. Aniline: soft to the touch, easily shows scratches, leaving the leather a lighter colour in the scratched area. Some scratches can be rubbed out with your fingers or by using a maintenance products, e.g. leather balm. This leather will become wet when you apply products to it during maintenance. Be sure to dry and remove moisture as soon as possible. Other Aniline Finishes include: Oil Pull-Up: same as full aniline except it has had an oil applied to the surface. This leather will scratch easily and the scratch will be very visible and become wet when you apply products during maintenance. Wax Pull-Up: same as pure aniline except it has a wax applied to the surface. The appearance of the leather usually has a crackled look. This will mean visible light creases in the surface. This finish will scratch easily and will be lightly visible. Semi-aniline: This leather is both aniline and finished surface properties, meaning this leather will have a soft feel, like an aniline, but with a protective finish like the protected/finished leathers. Scars may be visible but not as easily as on anilines. This making the leather easier to maintain.
