11.01.2022 So how does new keywords feature work? You may have heard on the social media grapevine that Instagram has introduced a brand new keywords search capability - much like how SEO works on Google. A little confusing maybe, but basically, it means we have another way to be discovered - yay! The new tool operates within the normal search function on Instagram and essentially finds keywords in account's captions. Just start typing what you're looking for the way you would a...n account (e.g. "Bali travel"), and select the magnifying glass. Instagram then spits out a whole feed of posts where "Bali travel" has been mentioned in the caption While yes, this opens a lot of doors for us and means we don't have to rely on heavily populated hashtags, it does have its limitations. Instagram has its own designated set of keywords from which you can choose - so forget trying to find anything super niche. The results will also be ranked (another algorithm to wrangle with!). Either way, this new feature is definitely something worth considering when you're selecting your content and writing your captions. Run some experiments, see if you can integrate it into your strategy. Tell us how you go! See more
